1101 | third temple built before Jesus returns? | John 2:19 | Val | 191628
If you do a topical study on the anti-christ and all names given him you will find references to where he goes in and desecrates the temple. This is after the church has been raptured. It is called the tribulation period. He makes a false peace with Israel allowing them to rebuild the temple and then after 3 and 1/2 years he goes in and desecrates the temple which begins the last 3 1/2 years. This is called the 70 th week of Daniel. The scriptures you are looking for should be studied by studying the entire bible. The book of Daniel would be an excellent place to start. You can order a Precept study and study it for yourself before looking at commentaries. Excellent.

1 Cor 2:9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. 1104 | THE APOCALYPSE CODE, Have U read it? | Rom 11:17 | Val | 191404
Brad, thank you for pointing out this critique by Norman Geisler. After reading it I am sad to see the divide that has occurred between Mr. Hanegraff and himself as well as others. It seems Satan causes upheaval everywhere. I have done a Precept study on "Covenants" and it was wonderful. God has made certain promises to Israel that He has not made to the church. A study of the covenants of the bible helped me to see those clearly. May God bless you. Val

Rabban, I have just completed a Precept study on Leviticus and am now beginning a Precept study on Hebrews. Thank you so much for your beautiful commentary on these passages. They really blessed my heart. May God Bless you. Matt 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." NASB
1106 | WutHappens2PeopleThatDon'tKnowAboutGod? | Acts 4:12 | Val | 191014
The bible teaches that God is the creator of all peoples and that it is His desire that all come to faith in Him. It also teaches that the gospel is for all nations. If someone is seeking to know Him, He will make a way for that person to know the gospel; that God sent His only Son to die on a cross for our sins and whoever puts their faith and trust in Him will be saved. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the gospel of good news and it is for all peoples even in third world countries. The bible says that nothing is too difficult for God. We see in the bible that He is a kind and loving Creator and that we see the wonder of Him in His creation so that all men may know Him. All people everywhere can see the moon and the stars - all the things that He created. The bible says that He put within all of us the knowledge of Him. It also says that when people seek Him - they will find Him if they search for Him with all their heart. It teaches that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. God loves you so much. I pray that you chose God the creator of heaven and earth and Jesus Christ His Son. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him may have everlasting life." NASB
1107 | Keep the Sabbath Holy? | Bible general Archive 3 | Val | 191012
I am currently studying Hebrews and will let you know what I find out about the Sabbath. We do word studies and cross references and it should be an interesting study. I have learned to look up every mention of the word and its synonyms in a concordance which gives the verses, then to look at how the word is used in those verses in their context. It is so exciting to find people who want to search out the scriptures and learn for themselves as the Holy Spirit teaches us. Grace and peace to you in the Father and His beloved Son Jesus Christ our Lord. May you grow in the grace and knowledge of Him.

1111 | Bad things, Good People. Prov 4:10 | Prov 4:10 | Val | 190931
James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. James 1:15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. |

1112 | Bad things, Good People. Prov 4:10 | Prov 4:10 | Val | 190923
Not everything that happens to a christian is discipline from the Lord is it Doc. There is another component in the scheme of things and that is that we live in a fallen world where there is evil and sin both physical and spiritual. |

1113 | Questioning God. | James 1:1 | Val | 190922
WOS-Isn't "questioning God's will" different from questioning why a bad thing has happened. We know that the Lord is just and pure and that there is no injustice in Him. To ask Him why a "bad thing" has happened isn't necessary "questioning His will" as you say. It is merely trying to make sense of the experiences of this world. When going through a bad experience who better to ask that the One who created us? Just trying to understand a crisis is not a bad thing. In fact, they draw us nearer to the Lord when we throw ourselves on Him and trust Him to be fair even when the world and the evil ones in it are not fair. James 1:16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. |

1114 | Does anyone have any notes on Isa 44:4? | Is 44:4 | Val | 190919
Dear Joanna: Greetings In Christ A way to observe a verse of the bible is to look at the verses before and after it. This is looking at the verse in its context. Asking questions about the passage such as: who is he talking to, what is he talking about, when did this happen, why did it happen and where did it happen, the passage begins to explain itself. So asking these and similar who, what, when, where and why questions we see from verse one he is talking to the nation Israel. What questions -answer that he is talking about the blessing of God and how to obtain it -through calling on the name of the Lord, repenting. What else does he talk about - who the true God is and who is not. The last verse talks about Cyrus - this gives us a hint to the time - during the reign of Cyrus - the King who let Israel return to their land and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. Verse 4 shows what they will be like (like is a word of comparison) they will be like willows or poplars by the watercourses. Reading the whole chapter in its context gives the meaning. I hope this helps. This method is called inductive bible study. It lets the passage speak for itself. Is 44:1 "But now listen, O Jacob, My servant, And Israel, whom I have chosen: Is 44:2 Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you, 'Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; And you Jeshurun whom I have chosen. Is 44:3 'For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring And My blessing on your descendants; Is 44:4 And they will spring up among the grass Like poplars by streams of water.' Is 44:5 "This one will say, 'I am the LORD'S'; And that one will call on the name of Jacob; And another will write on his hand, 'Belonging to the LORD,' And will name Israel's name with honor. Is 44:6 "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me. Is 44:7 'Who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it; Yes, let him recount it to Me in order, From the time that I established the ancient nation. And let them declare to them the things that are coming And the events that are going to take place. Is 44:8 'Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.'" Is 44:9 Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame. Is 44:10 Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit? Is 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, "I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone, Is 44:28 "It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will perform all My desire.' And he declares of Jerusalem, 'She will be built,' And of the temple, 'Your foundation will be laid.'" NASB |

1117 | Questioning God. | James 1:1 | Val | 190908
James 1:1 James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings. James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, James 1:8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. |

1120 | The Lord was pleased with Abel | Genesis | Val | 190882
Hebrews 11:4 "By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous,...." NASB Cain's sacrifice was not of faith. Hebrews 9:22 "And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." NASB Although the law had not been given until Moses the principle obviously was there. Matthew 23:35 calls Abel righteous 1 John 3:11-12 "For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain who was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous." NASB The principle is we must come to God - God's way. |
