1041 | who do I give money to? | 1 Cor 16:2 | Val | 193601
Reading on in this Chapter we see that the purpose of the collection was for the church at Jerusalem not Corinth. 1 Cor 16:3 "When I arrive, whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gift to Jerusalem;" The church at Jerusalem was persecuted and the saints there needed help in surviving - there was true need. There was a time when the church I grew up in needed funds to pay the utility bills. I felt that need was greater than my current church at that time because they had an abundance. I don't know if this helps - its really something you will have to search out and seek God on yourself. |

1042 | IS BAPTISM IS REQUIRED | Rom 6:3 | Val | 193597
You might look in the gospels and see where the Lord Jesus was baptized. We are to follow Him. If there is some medical or other reason that prevents you that would be different. As an act of obedience we are baptized after salvation not before as a picture and testiment of our life In Him.

In Acts 15:10 Paul is addressing a sect of Jews who were adding to the gospel by wanting to require the gentiles to become Jews. See verse 5. This was a transition point in which a meeting was called, see verse 1 and 2. The outcome of the meeting is stated in verse 19 and 20. These things; things contaminated by idols, fornication, what is strangled and from blood are not things that must be done to be saved but how to live after one is saved. In Galatians 2:11-14 Peter was making a distinction between Jews and gentiles and was not allowing fellowship between the two as is evidenced by his not letting them sit at his table. Again this is not adding to how to be saved but how to live after one is saved. Paul rebuked him for his behaviour no doubt because of Peter's great influence. In James 2:10 James is not saying how to be saved but how to live after one is saved. Some were showing partiality, see verse 9, and he compares this sin with the sin of adultery and murder. He is saying not to show partiality that it is a bad thing. He is showing them how to live after one is saved, how to treat our fellow man, see verse 12 and 13. |

1046 | Where does the bible condemn witchcraft? | Deut 18:10 | Val | 193517
One reason that the Lord does not allow witchcraft is because it amounts to idolatry in the sense that one is relying on something else rather than the Lord Jesus Christ.
1047 | Saved after the Rapture | 1 Cor 15:52 | Val | 193516
The people alive at the time after the church has been taken away will be saved the same way you and I are through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Since that time will start the tribulation period it will be much a time like the time of the persecuted church. In other words, some may die because of their faith in the Lord. Hope this helps.

1050 | How long time! | Gen 17:3 | Val | 193428
God told Abraham He would make him a great nation. This statement means Abraham would have decendants or children. This was told Abraham at age 75. Abraham became a father to Isaac at age 100. The promise of a child through which the blessing would come was 25 years. |

1051 | How long time! | Gen 17:3 | Val | 193352
Gen 12:2 And I will make you a great nation, ... Gen 12:4 So Abram went forth as the LORD had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Gen 17:1 Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; ... Gen 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to a man one hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?" Abraham received the promise at age 75. The child was born to him at age 100 and Sarah was 90. |

1052 | what is born again? | John 3:5 | Val | 193350
Very good, I will look up the cross references when I have more time. At this point I am having a little difficulty in seeing what you opposed in my answer to the questioner though. If you can help me out, lets look at it again. According to Ephesians 1:13 the sequence is: hear the gospel, believe the gospel, sealed with the Holy Spirt. In my answer I directed the questioner to read the gospels - (Born again is what happens to a person when they hear the gospel which is found in the New testament books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.) Believe the gospel (When a person responds to the message of the gospel by putting their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ thereby seeking to have a personal relationship with Him;) Sealed with the Holy Spirit (the Holy Spirit comes into that person to live permanently until that person dies a physical death and then goes to heaven.) I also added the basics of the christian's life which is bible study and prayer. (The Holy Spirit will help that person have victory over sin in their life and follow the Lord Jesus Christ through reading the Holy Bible and prayer to the Father.) I encouraged the questioner to seek the Lord and my prayer that they would be born again. (It is a wonderful life and I pray you will seek Him and be saved (born again) There is nothing in your post about evangelism upon immediate reading that I disagree with. I realize that you are very knowledgeable and hope you will take this as my way of trying to understand our differences. Thank you in advance |

1055 | what is born again? | John 3:5 | Val | 193329
Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, Eph 1:14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory. Born again is what happens to a person when they hear the gospel which is found in the New testament books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. When a person responds to the message of the gospel by putting their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ thereby seeking to have a personal relationship with Him; the Holy Spirt comes into that person to live permanently until that person dies a physical death and then goes to heaven. The Holy Spirit will help that person have victory over sin in their life and follow the Lord Jesus Christ through reading the Holy Bible and prayer to the Father. It is a wonderful life and I pray you will seek Him and be saved (born again) |

1056 | understanding the book of revelation | Revelation | Val | 193326
There are some excellent Precept studies on Revelation. In answer to your question about the second death. The first death is physical death which all humans experience. The second death is the death of those who have not trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour through faith in his death, burial and resurrection. Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
1057 | Will God put on us more than we can bear | 1 Cor 10:13 | Val | 193188
It is a cliche that people have used to encourage one another when bad things happen. The area of suffering is one that people will continue to speculate on until time is no more. It is usually something people say when they do not know what to say. So do not read into it anything more than that would be my suggestion.

1059 | Abel,s sacrifice acceptable, Cain's not? | Genesis | Val | 192914
Although the law did not come until Moses the principle is there as we see when God clothed Adam and Eve after the fall. The blood sacrifice points ahead to the blood sacrifice of Christ the Messiah. Whatever is in the heart, i.e., submission or rebellion comes to the surface in the actions or in this case the type of sacrifice. One point being we must come to God God's way, through the sacrifice of His son. Heb 9:22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. |

This was called the Northern Kingdom ten tribes: 1 Kin 11:31 He said to Jeroboam, Take for yourself ten pieces for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes: This was called the Southern kingdom Judah and Benjamin: 1 Kin 12:20 It came about when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, that they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. None but the tribe of Judah followed the house of David. |
