Bible Question: my paster said only give money to my church tru or false? |
Bible Answer: Reading on in this Chapter we see that the purpose of the collection was for the church at Jerusalem not Corinth. 1 Cor 16:3 "When I arrive, whomever you may approve, I will send them with letters to carry your gift to Jerusalem;" The church at Jerusalem was persecuted and the saints there needed help in surviving - there was true need. There was a time when the church I grew up in needed funds to pay the utility bills. I felt that need was greater than my current church at that time because they had an abundance. I don't know if this helps - its really something you will have to search out and seek God on yourself. |
