Bible Question: Im preparing my sunday school class lesson. The topic is Cain and Abel. Just need more help, because the bible doesnt tell the reason why God has accepted Abel's offering but not Cain's. I know that some of the children will be asking why has God accepted just Abel's offering. Please help. |
Bible Answer: Hebrews 11:4 "By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous,...." NASB Cain's sacrifice was not of faith. Hebrews 9:22 "And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." NASB Although the law had not been given until Moses the principle obviously was there. Matthew 23:35 calls Abel righteous 1 John 3:11-12 "For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain who was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous." NASB The principle is we must come to God - God's way. |
