Dachande: I appreciate your service to our country. I am a disabled Navy Veteran. I do understand about making rank and the like. I would like to quote from 1 Timothy 1:3-7. "...instruct certian men not to teach strange doctrines, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by fath. But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and good conscience and sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, haved turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand eeither what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions." NASB updated. I often am reminded of these verses from Timothy to keep me on tract, when I dialogue with someone. I carefully watch responses to the notes I send, and how one replies to suggested readings and or Scripture. Joe, I am accountable for my time not only to the Lord, but to my wife and family. So a budget my time on the forum, according to how sincere and earnest the I feel the person I am dialoguing with is about seeking the Truth of Scripture. That makes good stewardship of my time that I have. You have been respectful and kind, that is very commendable, and speaks highly of you from my perspective. I do feel it is rather repeative at this point, to continue our dialogue, I feel you are defending your opinion, rather than measuring what you think against what Scripture teaches. I respect your right to back Morrmonisn and to believe as you wish. This is basic to each person under God, by His design, which is called "free will". Joe, having tried to dialogue with several believers in Mormonism, I know when there is no reason to continue trying to expose them to any more Scripture. This may be the time to let you pray or digest what I have written, or to ask Christ to open the Truth to you. I believe I would rather back off and let the Holy Spirit work with your understanding of God, then to go into an endless note sending, and expressing things that close doors to future dialogue, after you have given more time to chew on things for a while. I think this allows us both to show our respect and prove kindness to one another. I encourage you, again, to go to aomin.org and seek information from them and perhaps call and talk with someone there. I think this might help as you seek answers to what you are looking for. I enjoyed our dialogue, and perhaps we might dialogue on this after you have prayed and given this more thought. Peace. justme |

Justme, You are an outstanding individual in your friendship and the respct you show. I respect that greatly of you, it is import to balance the importance of things I am not defending the LDS Church on shared views on certain issues, but since I know much about them, I will defend the misunderstanding that floats around, as I would defend any Church which is falsly represented. Which is why I wish to learn about many Churches, since I feel many are misunderstood, the LDS Church just stands in a spot light of being attacked and is a much larger sourse and known sourse to investigate why people hate them... And I am willing to walk away f5om this subject in humility as well with a high respect for your aproach to all of our converses And I do pray nightly and reread many things... and I hope we may talk again some time, but under this form is not necessary... Thank you for the discussion and Preace to you as well, Joe |

Joe Let me interject something here first I don't think the word "hate" is correct. I certainly don't hate Mormons nor does Justme (if I may speak for him, forgive me my brother if I'm putting words in your mouth) but both of us do hate false teaching. Through the years Mormonism has learned to respond to accusations in such a way that it appears they are orthodox however the existing differences can only be seen when we look at the definitions. To truly understand Mormonism you must understand the definitions they apply to God, Jesus, the Trinity, Salvation, Heaven, Sin and Eternity. You have to get down to the basics of these definitions. EdB:-) Thank you for that added clarification. You are correct we are to love the person always, the deed or cult is the part that is tetestable, and must be exposed in a way that reaches out to the person. I felt this dialogue had gone as far as it could for now. The results is in the Lords habds now. Peace, justme |
