Joe Ask them where God came from, was he not a man living a good life on another planet and therefore allowed to become 'god' of Earth? Make them answer yes or no and if they say no ask them to tell you where he came from Ask them how Mary became pregnant? If they say anything other than Elohim became man had sexual relations with Mary and she became pregnant then ask them to explain. Ask them did Jesus have a beginning? If they say anything other than Elohim and his heavenly wife had sex and Jesus was born of that union then ask them to explain. What you getting is thousand word answers that snow the question and mixes up the issues. Ask short distinct questions expecting short distinct answers. Remember the old adage "if you can't convince them with truth baffle them with your many words." EdB |

Joe I think we are on Mormons because you said they worship Jesus. The point I'm trying to make clear here is while they worship someone they have named Jesus, the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of Scripture. The god of Mormonism is not the God of Scripture. People and things are known by their definitions, when we change the definitions we don’t change the person nor the object, but rather we are then defining someone or something different. For instance if we have a man name J. W. Smith the things we know about him (what defines him to us) make him different than another J. W. Smith that we might meet later. If our J. W. Smith has red hair and 6 feet tall then he is different that J. W. Smith with blond hair and is 5 ft. 9 inches tall. This is very important! Jesus when he was on earth said many will come claiming to be me but I am the only truth and only way. Mormons have defined a god, a Jesus and a religion, it sounds very logical and right because it was formulated by man to be appealing to man. In Mormonism hard to understand things of scriptural Christianity like the Trinity which simply can not be completely understood by man and seems illogical, have been carefully crafted to have understandable and believable explanations. The purpose of man has been explained in ways that appeal to man more so than true Christianity. Salvation once again is explained in ways that make it more appealing to man's logic and understanding. However redefining something to make it more believable or more understandable does not make it correct, what is correct is the definitions given in the Bible and this is exactly where Mormonism departs from the truth.
