John... You said... " At the same time, I am also pig-headed, stubborn and unwilling to embrace new ideas. I see these attitudes as vestiges of my old man." Good. That's a start. Mind you, I have been corrected in essential areas over the years. That being for about 25 years now. I have gotten over the shock of discovering how wrong I was about what I was sure of. I was eventually shown to be aware of it when that type of confidence is made manifest, that I should learn to become wary of it and to recognize it. There is a confidence that comes from the Spirit... and one that comes from one's areas of strength in Adam. We all must learn to give up on their stubborness where we have it. Some will, some refuse. For some they refuse, because its a matter of survival to them. "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (Luke 9:24 niv) Stubborness if trying to be one's own savior. With that said... Please, respond to this in agreement to hear ALL I have to say before questioning (attacking) it, and I will show you what I have been shown in the Scripture. Drop the fear of being tricked by another's logic and maybe you'll find yourself less willing to try stubborness as a defence. If not, it will be like me trying to tell a Mary worshipper that Mary is not the mother of God. As you well know, they can be VERY stubborn about this matter. Reasoning will not reach them when they are stubborn. Grace and peace, Gene |

Gene I beseech you, as did Hank, PLEASE, if you insist on continuing this discussion TAKE IT OFF FORUM use E-mail. The argument between Calvinist and Arminianist has been going on for 500 years. It is prideful on your part to think either of you have something to offer that hasn't already been said. Besides our TULIP friends would not be dissuaded if heaven itself declared them wrong. They would merely say heaven was talking about the someone else. EdB |

EdB... You are not reading me right. You requested: "The argument between Calvinist and Arminianist has been going on for 500 years." Look...I have clearly stated: I am not an Arminianist. I reprove both sides of this "Hatfields and McCoys" war. Sit tight, sir. You may just learn something you did not know. In the mean time I wonder. It appears you wish to censor what I might have to say? For I clearly stated that I take a side that refutes BOTH Arminianism and hyper-Calvinism. And, I also stated that if a Calvinist argument is introduced while I am explaining that I will not respond to it. It will not drag on and on. Matter of fact, what I have to say will put an end to the debate if others here are up in their Biblical knowledge enough to follow what I have been shown. Sounds arrogant? If I am thinking false doctrine? I am. If I have the resolve to this issue? I tell you plainly what it is that I possess to give those willing to hear me out. Otherwise, I will not waste my time with all these panic attacks of the likes you are showing me. Get what I have already said clearly. If not, I will not bother with such a spirit in this forum. Period. Grace and truth, Gene |

Email suppresses truth which is to be made known to all... on public display. There seems to be a strong desire to hide what I might have to say from certain folks here... Am I quickly picking up on a trend manifested here? I think I do not like this place... That is, unless I am reading things so far, wrongly. When presenting Bible doctrine this sort of thing can be expected at times. I guess my hopes about this forum is quickly diminishing. What I have to say is to be presented OPENLY... before all. All are to be shown and are to decide for themselves... To the body of Christ. If I were looking for private Emailings I would have not come to a Forum. I may be wrong, but I sense a fear in this place. Why is that? Those growing in grace and truth have nothing to fear... But, they do need to be aware of suppression of truth. What I have sustains me. It does not depend on others having to hear what I have to say. In other words... It's not my loss if someone refuses to hear me out. I share it in hopes of furthering the details and insight. But, that can not happen when there is fear of others to hear in an open arena. Might just be moving on... Gene |

Greetings Gene! There is no fear here my friend! :-) You haven't posted anything to be afraid of as of yet! ;-) You just seemed hesitant to post for some reason, so I thought I would invite you to e-mail your info to me. If it was anything, I would have responded here on the forum. Those who have been on the forum for a while simply don't want to get another pointless C/A debate going. But, I am interested in what you think proves both views wrong! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
