Subject: Who determines our destiny? |
Bible Note: John I think there are three problems with discussing this. First men including Calvin or Arminiaus have tried to explain the miracle of salvation that God has not fully revealed and therefore can not be truly understood by man. Men trying to explain the mechanics (hate that word) salvation is like trying to explain the trinity in human terms utterly impossible. Therefore the discussion really becomes an argument over the doctrine of men. Secondly both the doctrine of Calvin and Arminiaus are so repugnant to true Christianity and the rest of scripture that most who have come to the understanding that God has not revealed His mysteries to us can not bear to be exposed to it. Three the discussion/debate/argument/tirade/differences, you pick an adjective, has been going on for 500 years without any sign of settlement, agreement or compromise for either side. The fact is, men have lost their lives over these issues and you think we can discuss them in a rational civil manner on this un-moderated forum? Is not that assertion in itself prideful? EdB |
