Hi Colin, I really don't know, bottom line. JW's say yes and you have probably read their reasoning for saying so. It seems logical according to their reasoning but since so little is said in the Bible about Michael the arch arngel, I don't know. I realize you asked if "Gabriel" was Jesus but I know you meant to ask me if Michael was Jesus. For a certainty though Colin Jesus is not Jehovah, never was never will be. He is Jehovah's Son, Second in all the universe. Praise and glory to whom Jesus said to give it, the Father, our Almighty God, God of Jesus, Jehovah. Sorry to disappoint you but truth is truth. 2 | Tara1 - Is Jesus true or false god? | OT general | MrsBinGA | 107322 | ||
Good morning Tara1! Your post of 12/24/03 states "Jesus is not Jehovah, never was never will be. He is Jehovah's Son, Second in all the universe." Does this mean that Jesus is "a god"? If so, is Jesus a true god or a false god? If He is a true god, then we have TWO true God's, which is contrary to Scripture. Jeremiah 10:10a says "But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: . . ." Remember, there are many things and persons in the world that are "called" gods, but there is only One True God. If Jesus isn't a true god, the only alternative is He is a false god. But this "logical deduction" presents lots of other problems. 1) Heb. 1:6 says: "And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, 'Let all God's angels worship him.'" Would Jehovah tell His angels to worship a false god? 2) Heb. 1:13: "But to which of the angels said He at any time, 'Sit on My right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?'" Would Jehovah have a false god sitting next to Him in His Glory? Deut. 32:39 makes it very clear that there is no "god" with Jehovah: "See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand." 3) Isaiah 11:10 says: "And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious." NKJV Would you agree that the Root of Jesse is Jesus? If so, then Jesus is the One to whom the Gentiles will seek. Will Jehovah approve of the nations seeking after a false god? If Jesus is NOT the Root of Jesse, then who is? 4) Jesus said in John 6:45: "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me." KJV Would Jehovah have "every man that has heard and has learned" of Him (the Father)come to a false god? 5) Gen. 19:24? "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;" Two Jehovahs? How can this be? Just an observation, but there appears, to me, to be a real dilemna with the theology of your statements. Kindest regards, Mrs. B |

Hi, Mrs. B! I don't think Tara1 is listening (or reading the Bible)... You've made excellent points! God Bless! |

Thank you for the compliment. If Tara1 is studying with JWs then she definitely is not reading the Bible - she's reading their materials which, as you know, is promoting their doctrine. JWs are not encouraged to read the Bible for themselves because only the "faithful and wise servant" (Watchtower) has the "authority" to interpret the Scriptures and then give the JW their "meat in due season." How sad that anyone would allow another person, organization, or church to keep them from a personal relationship with the Lord. Yesterday I was listening to an audio tape by Mick VanBuskirk (C.A.R.I.S. ministry) on the Triune God. Excellent, especially the Scriptures showing that the Holy Spirit is a Person, and not an "active force" as JWs are taught. Hopefully Tara1 will read our posts and the Holy Spirit will open her eyes to the truth of His Word. Blessings to you! Mrs. B |

Hello, Mrs. B I'm clipping your post on the true God, false god topic. Terrific. I have a friend who's a JW and locked up tighter than a crypt. All the JW acolytes who arrive in this forum claim 40 bibles in their reference library and end up fading away when pressed theologically. It's too bad, but maybe this place will have done them good. Hi Colin, Would you please, to the best of your ability, accurately explain these two verse? 1) Matt. 11:25, "At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes." 2) Matt. 4:10, "For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’ Tara1 |
