Dear Vavatheresa, The prophesies that you mention did not belong to the prophets, rather the prophets spoke as directed by God. The prophesies were the Lord's, and they came to pass by His doing alone. There have been many people who have lived and died throughout the ages. God has preversed the memory of only a few of them in order to reveal the divine plan of redemptive history. Ezekiel and Jeremiah were used as instruments of God's eternal purpose. They would be the first to acknowledge that fact. It may sound like a matter of semantics, but it is the difference between giving God all of the glory or trying to make Him share it with man. Am I missing something? We began by talking about whether or not ministries should have results. Whether it is Ezekiel, Jeremiah, or you or me-God, of course, is doing the work. He gets all the glory. The point is we know they were used of God because their ministry had results. Their prophesies came to pass.

No. Deut. 13 gives the test of a false prophet. Even if the sign or wonder he gives comes to pass and he attempts to draw people to another God then he is a false prophet. Ministries that are ordained of God will always procaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

You're right the city wasn't destroyed in 40 days. But it was destroyed. What would you give as the measure of a ministry ordained of God?
7 | Ministry of God? | 1 Tim 2:12 | Searcher56 | 146309
Having Him say "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matt 25:21) is my goal. Also, I should be ready to die today ... "When it comes time to die, make sure that all you have to do is die" (Jim Elliot). It is not the numbers, because Jim Elliot died seeing none.

Bottom line - Love one other John 13:35 ........ Does the world see that we love one other? Study the "one another" "each other", as well as Ephesians 4, plus use our spiritual gifts to benefit the Body (1 Cor 12, et. al.) |
