1 | Why do we teach otherwise? | 2 Thess 2:3 | CDBJ | 187793
Hi MR What “most believers” don’t realize is that the word “coming”, with reference to Christ and the rapture, isn’t a verb, which designates action. The Koine Greek word is “PAROUSIA”, it’s actually a noun describing an event and the length of time involved starts at the moment that Jesus appears in the clouds and ends when He establishes His earthly kingdom. Just as the first advent of Christ covered a total of aprox. 33 years so the second advent of Jesus will be a period of time with different epochs of doctrinal being fulfilled within that time frame. The point in time that most believers know as the rapture just get it all started. 2 Thes. 2:9 Even him, whose coming (PAROUSIA) is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. You might want to pick up a book called, “The Sign”, (ISBN 1-58134-067-2) It is the most informative book that I’ve ever read on eschatology and it’s so easy that even I can understand it. Have a great day, CDBJ |

2 | Why do we teach otherwise? | 2 Thess 2:3 | M.Royal | 187830
Hi CDBJ, The following scriptures refer to Jesus returning in the clouds, and as stated by Jesus takes place after the tribulation, which is before the sun and moon are darkened (4th Trumpet Rev. 8:12), "And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven" Matt. 24:29-31 Matt. 25:31 Matt. 26:64 Acts 1:11 Daniel 7:13,14 Rev. 11;15-19 With ref. to 2 Thess. 2:9 this clearly teaches that the antichrist must first be revealed and reign before the day of the Lord/christs coming. Yours sincerely M.Royal |

3 | Why do we teach otherwise? | 2 Thess 2:3 | CDBJ | 187855
Greetings M. Royal I agree and that's what Scripture teaches. Often time’s believers will pull one or two verses out of the Bible and try to elaborate on their few pet verses to establish truth. The fact of the matter is, the truth of God’s word is only established after all the verses on any given doctrine are considered then and only then is the truth know and when it is known, we never stand in judgment of it, it always stands in judgment of us. I believe, but don’t quote me on this, the last part of that statement is a saying from A.W. Tozer. Psalm 119:160 The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. CDBJ |
