2 | Is'nt it the same? | Eph 4:3 | EdB | 148931
Linoheart You make a good point. I have never looked at 2 Peter 1:20 in this way. I have always looked at it as Hank and Tim do, that it is talking to the orgin of the Bible rather than how we should held the Bible. I can see your point. Perhaps that verse is key to this whole issue. Perhaps God in His infinite wisdom put that in there for just this situation. And we have violated it by explaining it away saying it pertained to the source of the Bible rather than the way we should held it. EdB |

3 | Is'nt it the same? | Eph 4:3 | lionheart | 148935
EdB, Greetings brother,Exactly my point.2Timothy 3:15 says all scripture is inspired by God (God Breathed) speaks quite clearly and openly where biblical origin is concerned. No room for error here. We can take 2Peter 1:20,21 as a reference to biblical origin because we can see it in the passage but we must take verse 20 to heart,God is the author and he said what he meant and meant what he said.I dont believe God has preserved His Word through all these centuries to have man putting his own twist on it.How we hold the bible is vitally important to how we veiw God and how we relate him to others. We can illafford to explain anything away where Gods Word is concerned. Well said brother. In Christ, lionheart |

4 | Is'nt it the same? | Eph 4:3 | EdB | 148943
Lionheart I and I think everyone totally agree with your statement, "I dont believe God has preserved His Word through all these centuries to have man putting his own twist on it." But who decides what God meant? Do you? or should I? or how about Tim? The problem is we have thrown off all authority in this area and have said each man is capable of deciding for himself what is true and what is not. That is patently false. All men are not capable of doing that as evidenced by all the cults. So who decides that is the question. Should it be a church council using both scripture and oral testimony of the apostles? Or should it be a church council and using nothing but their interpretation of scripture? Should it be a denominational head? A regional church head? Should it be a local church? A pastor? or do we let it where it is at each man doing what seems right in his own eyes? EdB |

Well bro I think you and I know the answer to the last part of your posting. You are right, man has already proved we are'nt capable of deciding. So that leaves us with one lone choice and thats that God decided and it's right here at our fingertips. Nuff said... In Christ, lionheart |

7 | Is'nt it the same? | Eph 4:3 | lionheart | 149003
I'll put it this way brother, When we refuse to let the bible stand on it's own, when we refuse to set aside personal opinion and bias inlight of Gods Word then we are without excuse. lionheart |
