Hank I didn't realize you had a question in the last paragraph. My answer would be authority. God told us He established the authority over us and we were to submit to it. Today every man has become his own authority. We submit to none! We commiserate over the whore Babylon mentioned in Revelation. Doesn’t that description fit the church today embracing every wind of doctrine? We have loosed the reins of authority and run as we please standing on a verse here and one there to show our scriptural authority. The solution? I will let you draw your own conclusions. ;-) EdB |

Ed, so much of Christianity today is tainted with humanism. One hears a great deal about the purpose-driven church and the purpose-driven life. But whose purpose, man or God's. The longer I live the more I am convinced that the two most important truths confronting the church are the two that are most ignored: the absolute sovereignity of God and the absolute authority of Scripture. To the degree that the church loses sight of these fundamental truths it ceases to be the church of Jesus Christ. --Hank | ||||||
