Hi, EdB! You don't have to go too far... in North America you can witness the soup kitchens that would only serve those who come to their proselytizing... (I am not claiming that all soup kitchens are ran the same way--I have been told of some that do)... they might think that they are emulating Christ, but in His case, He did not seek contractual agreements... even when only one of ten lepers returned to Him, Jesus did not take back His physical healing from those who refused to thank God for His mercy! Even some "well-intentioned" workers travel through the US teaching borderline believers about their brand of "Christianity," placating even the slightest opposition (yeah, its war out there, in the streets of the US of A!)... God Bless! Angel |

Angel Good point but don't get me started on soup kitchens. Two or three days ago our newspaper ran and article on the homeless. Here is a quote from one of of the homeless, "you have to be stupid or lazy to go hungry in Tampa there is so many places that want to feed you." Lazy or stupid! I say reopen public works projects. Before anyone picks up on soup kitchens start another thread. EdB |

Amen, EdB! Who was it that once said: "You can give a man a fish and he'll be hungry in a few hours or you can teach a man to fish and he will never hunger again?"--the quote may not be precise! God Bless! Angel |
