1 | Where can we go online to read the NWT? | 1 Cor 15:27 | Hank | 56289
Retxar, in the wake of your question about where to find the New World Translation on line, I searched but could not find the complete text. There are snippets on some of the web sites that can be accessed by typing in _Watchtower_ or _Jehovah's Witnesses_. Here's a tip that you might find useful. If there are thrift stores such as Salvation Army or Goodwill in your area, you may find a copy in their used book section -- or try some used bookstores. I'm a book collector, so I poke around these outlets quite frequently and routinely see copies of NWT. I bought a used copy (hardcover, green binding) several years ago at a Goodwill outlet, even though it was quite expensive. It cost me a whole dollar. But no sales tax. That was a break! --Hank

Hi Hank, Going to the used book store is an excellent suggestion. I believe that I purchased mine there and I buried it in my locker at work; and used it to understand the viewpoint of a friend at work. Now, after a recent retirement, I will be able to do the same here on the forum. But as you know, I'll go with the capitalized versions.:) The Jehovah's Witnesses do things that we can respect. Their willingness to share what they believe, their study of the material and Scriptures available to them, and their time spent in service are things that we can respect. I think that we have to teach our church members much more fully what the Scriptures teach. And we must have more love and acceptance of people as they are. We need to relate with people in a "God is not finished with us yet" attitude. Always learning and desiring to know God fully. Otherwise, people can be led astray by these that know their specific Scriptures well and who are evidently happy in their surroundings and feel loved by their fellow members. But as far as the used book store is concerned; I remember looking at the stacks of Bibles at Kregel's book store years and years ago. I was "searching" the Scriptures and I am happy that I was first led to the NASB. From the heart, Ray |

Hello, Ray! It's always good to visit with you here on ye olde forum. I pray that you are doing well. One of the delights about your posts, bon ami, is that they are laced with love, not traced with vitriol.... To your fine list of things that one can respect the Jehovah's Witnesses for, I would add their relentless zeal and industry. How many Baptists (ouch, that's me) or Presbyterians or Methodists do we see going from door to door, in good weather and bad, in an effort to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ? And what would happen, do you suppose, if they did? I rather expect it would be a boom time for carpenters, don't you? -- building new and bigger houses of worship to accomodate the crowds of new believers..... As for dusty, musty old bookstores, one never knows what serendipity may befall the one who incessantly prowls around among their wares. You struck upon the NASB in your quest and I once found a signed copy of President Truman's "Memoirs" at a garage sale for a couple of dollars. One of the joyous by-products of visiting my son and his family in Portland, Oregon is the opportunity to visit Powell's City of Books, advertised to be the world's largest bookstore. --Hank
