1 | Women speak in church? | 1 Cor 14:34 | inHzsvc | 25534 | ||
If you call believing the Bible for what it says "legalistic," then so be it. What I believe is that we should have Scripture to back up what we do. Do you not believe that? There is not one ounce of Scripture that ever contradicts I Cor. 14:34 nor is there anything to even hint that it was only for that time period. I find it hard to believe that Christian people today think we can just write off what the Bible says about things such as this. Look, the Bible is our "handbook." We are to follow it. We don't have anything else. If we can just say, "well, I think that's old fashioned", we can do anything. Please, for your sake as you will stand before Christ in judgment one day, take God's Book seriously. He wrote it like He meant it. God bless you and yours. |

Hello! I only have some quick comments and two questions I would like anwsered if you have the time. If not, thats OK. If I am errant in my thinking then the grace of God be with me. Note how Pauls letter to Corinth starts: 1 Corinthians 1 1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes, 2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours Regardless of the mistakes the Corinthians are making only a short time after Christ rose, Paul describes them as, "sanctified in Christ Jesus" and " all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours". He doesn't say, "to those who will be saved if they heed this letter". Their salvation was intact. You have found the authority to threaten my salvation when you say "for your sake...". Question #1)What verse gives you this authority? Note the following. 1 Corinthians 11 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is just as though her head were shaved. This whole letter is about church behavior. Question #2) Explain (using scripture) the process of women praying and giving prophesy while at the same time remaining silent. I admit the possibility of me being wrong about certain things. I seek to obey God. I would never take part in a service with female authority which is what the passages suggest to me and many other saved Christians. If I err, which I confess I will and have, Gods grace suits me very, very well. We will all need it sir. On a personal note. I have been guilty of not proceeding in this forum with love as Christ commands. I am often cynical and argumentitive. I ask for your forgiveness. I also ask you to examine your tone of conversation. Let's set the tone together for other people who use this service! We are God's children and we should radiate love even in disagreement! Other people read this. Praise God for our salvation in Christ! Dan |
