I would encourage anyone to see Jesus Christ Superstar and open themselves to be touched by the Holy Spirit and not be afraid of the spirit of legalism .... if we listened to the pharisees, heck we would be scared of everything. Love in Christ who Loves us, Lime | ||||||

The benefit that one can derive from what you suggest, as compared to reading and studying the New Testament is like looking for something good to eat in a garbage can. I am sure that if one looks long enough and hard enough that they could find something good to eat even in garbage can, but you have to go through all the slop to find it and then it will probably be contaminated by what's next to it. I wouldn't suggest eating it for any real nourishment and you could be poisoned to the point that you can't intake good food! Why would anyone mess with garbage when God offers a free, wholesome, seven course meal in His Word? Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Do you honestly think that what you are suggesting is a substitute for 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Or are you adding to it as in 1 Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; When Paul taught he only used God's Word, even though Greek theatrics were a big thing in his day; he even gave Timothy a strong command. 2 Tim. 4:1-22 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. I think you better reread my last post, there wasn't one thing in it that judged you. I merely ask if you thought your advise was better then God's Word and spending time in reading it. If your conscience is bothering you don't blame that on me. 1 Cor. 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. Far be it from me to judge you, I don't have to judge you, God's Word will do that if you are a true believer. Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Now if one isn't a true believer that is another story. John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: I am not saying which camp you are in, but there is a parable that covers both. Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. I don't know who or what you are following, all I know is what God's word says. John 10:1-5 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This doesn't sound like Jesus Christ Superstar to me. |
