1 | The Suffering of the Church | Acts 8:2 | CDBJ | 217623 | ||
Greetings, I find it very hard trying to understand, from your point of view, that God has actually called us His children to evil. 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: The words in the English, “For even hereunto” are translated from one preposition in the Koine Greek and it is the word, EIS, which is a primary preposition of purpose. It is God’s “purpose” that we should suffer and using your form of exegesis it would be God’s purpose to call us for an evil purpose as well as that of Christ Himself. “ When scripture contradicts scripture we don’t have truth and when we find verses in opposition to our assumptions, scripture stands in judgment of us we don’t stand in judgment of it!” (R.A. Tozer) 1 Peter 5:5 (B) and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. CDBJ |

CDBJ, If God calls you to China to be a missionary and while there you are arrested, sent to labor prison and die, you will be rewarded in Heaven for your suffering. Was the suffering good or evil? The suffering was evil! God is rewarding you for the evil you endured for His name sake and counting it as good. Suffering is the physical manifestation of evil! I don't understand how very educated people can be so confused about a very simple concept. In love Mike |

Hello Mike, Please, let's get back on topic,my friend! You made the statement that, "ALL SUFFERING IS EVIL!!!". You then, reasserted that you stood behind it! There is absolutely no biblical support for this! None! Please provide your basis from scripture. I'm an educated person and am not confused about a "simple concept". Frankly, I think you're confused. Your analogy doesn't hold water! Scripture alone is our source for truth. It either supports what you said, or it does not! You've yet to provide one shred of support- from the Bible! I'm not confused, but I'm sure waiting... Speaking the Truth in Love BradK |
