1 | What is preaching Christ? | John 7:17 | mark d seyler | 167468
Hi Mitch, You are saying that Jesus, following His resurrection, could be described as "enslaved to corruption"? You've lost me there! Corruption is from the Greek "phthora", and means "decay, or ruin", and speaks of that which is perishable, that which will decay. How could this apply to Jesus, following His resurrection? And didn't Jesus have His new body? I know that He hadn't been glorified, or received back to Himself His divine glory that He left to become a Man, but He had flesh and bone, and had conquered death, wouldn't that necessitate that His "mortal had put on immortality"? When we die, aside from accident, how does it happen except by sickness, or disease? A health body by definition continues of function. Its not like we are translated, like Enoch was. Our bodies become, due to ill health, unable to continue to function. Love in Christ, Mark |

Any doctor in this country can tell you that people die all the time without it being caused by sickness or disease. There have been plenty who get to a very old age, and they have no signs of sickness, they don't have arthritis, their mind is as good as when they were 20, they can still go outdoors and run and jog and keep up with the great grandkids, yet there comes a moment when the easiest way to describe it would be their heart just quits, its painless, its not sickness, and it doesn't mean God isn't the healer. What do you think Paul meant when he said he's stuck and can't decide if he should go on to be with the Lord, or stay on this earth and teach? Does that not show us that he believed he had the right to chose if he left this earthly body or not? What I"m saying, is that I will never die untill I am either martyed for the Lord Jesus Christ, or I'm an old old man and my ministry on this earth has come to an end, and I am ready to go home to heaven. Its hard for peole to concieve that you can die without being sick, they say 'well his heart stopped, that sounds like sickness to me. ' I understand that in essence, yes, your heart stopping, if you are not ready to go home to be with God, is a bad thing. But if you've run your race down here, you've lived the long life God promised you, and your work is through, thats the way to go. And like I said, unless I am martyed, thats the exact way I'll go. I'll know it beforehand, and I'll be ready. As for Jesus after his resurrection, I was simply stating that he had not yet been glorified. I wasn't saying he was a slave to anything. But was merely pointing out that even after his death and resurrection, there was still more for him to do before they could touch him. He had to present himself before the throne, and sprinkle his blood on the heavenly utensils of worship, and cleanse us all! Sorry for the confusion. Our Lord is enslaved to nobody, and neither are we! |

Greetings Mitch! But, death is a consequence of sin! If salvation means complete deliverance in this life, shouldn't we also be healed from death as well? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Death is an enemy brother, and it shall be totally destroyed. ( 1 Cor 15:26 )
5 | What is preaching Christ? | John 7:17 | Morant61 | 167556
Greetings Mitch! You are avoiding the question and the implications of that question. Death is a consequence of sin. It shall be destroyed, but it has not been yet. Your definition of salvation is 'complete deliverance' from the curse. Yet, even Christians are still subject to the curse of death. Why? How can there be a present complete deliverance from the curse if we still died? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Death is still here, as long as we can be martyed for the Lord Jesus. That is the only 'death' I ever might experience. And yes, salvation is complete deliverence from the curse, the Word says that doesn't it? Jesus has delivered us from the curse, correct? Death is the final enemy to be destroyed, and yes, it will be done. Sin will finally be destroyed as well wont it? Sin will take a man to the pits of hell and he will be tormented forever. But just because sin exists today in this earth, does it mean I am full of it? IN other words, just because death exists, doesn't mean I have to be in bondage to it. You don't have to die sick and poor, you can die like Moses did, you can know you are going to go, and know when you are going to go. It doens't have to be cancer, it doens't have to be a heart attack, its simply a matter of your life force going home to be with the Lord. On another note, since we agree that death is our enemy, then if God brings death upon us, how does that not make God our enemy? Your Brother, Mitch |

7 | What is preaching Christ? | John 7:17 | Morant61 | 167572
Greetings Mitch! You are still missing my point my friend! Death is a direct result of the fall. If your theological understanding of salvation is correct, then we must be delivered from all the effects of sin, not just some of them. As to your last question, death is not a person. Death if the just penalty for all who have sinned and is a result of the fall. God has atoned for our sins, and He will destroy death as well - but death is not evil. It is the just punishment of sin, decreed by God. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

If everytime a believer dies, you say its the 'just punishment of sin' then woudln't that mean that person went to hell.. since they died in sin? Jesus took the penalty of sin from me, I don't have to have any of it. I might leave this body, but I will not die due to sin. I am delivered from all the effects of sin. I never have to live in this life with any form of sickness or disease, or poverty lack and want, I never have to live without God in my life. Thats just how it is brother. God Bless, Mitch |
