1 | What is preaching Christ? | John 7:17 | mitchm0521 | 167417
Yes I have personally seen mountains moved. I am living in the 100 fold return on everything I sow into the Kingdom of God. God has just recently supernatually blessed my family with a beautiful new home. By the world's standards we would not be able to afford it, but by God's standards, and by his love for his children, we can afford it. You can talk badly about Brother Hagin all you like, you are the one who has to give an account of every idle word you speak when you stand before Christ. If you don't like the 100 fold message, maybe you might want to blot that part of scripture out of your bible, or at least try to explain to me what you believe it means, instead of using the devils tactics and becoming an accuser of the brethren. And yes, Ephesians states wonderful things Christ has done for us on the cross. Peter does as well when he points out that because of the stripes of Jesus Christ, because he was beaten, we can live in divine healing in our lives. I'm simply saying, that to say preaching miracles is not 'preaching Christ' as someone here put it. Then you must be saying that the cross is not a miraculous thing. And I'm simply saying, that since the cross is what brought me back into the relationship with God he ordained me to walk in before the foundation of the world, which yes as Jesus said , does include financial prosperity, then it is a mircale that needs to be preached. If you don't preach it, then you are leaving out a wonderful event that took place upon that cross. And I don't care to read a book that tries to document things about other men, I like to read scriptural messages. I don't worry about fussing and fighting with others. I like to leave the bad mouthing, trash talking to the sinners. Also, if you takt he time to read Brother Hagin's books yourself, then you will see that he glorifies the Lord in his own life, by having everything JEsus paid for. Jesus removed the curse from me, so if I still chose to live in sickness and disease, I'm throwing out part of what he paid for. If I don't walk in the fullness of his sacrifice, then I'm making the cross of none effect in my life. And I refuse to ever belittle anything that God has done for me. Brother I understand many don't like the message that Brother Hagin preaches, but all I ask is that instead of saying what so and so said, and talking about hearsay, and bad mouthing others. Give me scripture that prove a certain teaching is wrong. Otherwise, I'll not response anymore. I'm here to help those who have valid questions, I'm done with watching people talk bad about God's children. I don't agree with everything you say, does God then say that I should go around and bad mouth you? Talk down about you? I don't agree with everything Billy Graham says, but should I go around and say he shouldn't be on TV? NO that would be absurd, thousands, if not millions, have come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ through the ministry of Billy Graham, so even if the man is wrong on some of his beliefs on the Word, at least he is doing what God is leading him to do, and not sitting around bad mouthing Kenneth Copeland or Joyce Meyer. He's following God, and loving his neighbor. He's working no ill toward his neighbor. He's living the Word of God, even if he is wrong about some things, which I think he is, or at least I should say, I would believe that he is. But you'll never get me to say a bad thing about the man. He's done wonderful things for Christian faith. God Bless you, and remember, what God did in Jesus on the cross, is far greater than what satan did in Adam in the garden! Mitch |

Hello Mitch, You sound like a man who truly believes in God and is truly thankful for a lot of stuff. What concerns me, however, is your unscriptural approach to living the Christian life. I have read all of your posts here and have read this particular one twice now. What I understand from your words is that; if it works for me it has to be from God. Perhaps even: if it works for me I'll take it. This is very concerning. The "Word of Faith" movement is unorthodox and guilty of "FALSE TEACHING". That specifically includes the leaders within this movement, some of whom you have named in your post. You don't take my word for that, nor Brad's. It is a fact supported by centuries of well established doctrine. This false teaching preys on the one thing that has become one of the greatest misfotunes of Christianity. The fact that most Christians of today have little or no desire to study and know doctrine. as a result we open ourselves up to believe anything at all, especially if there is a benefit in it for us. For example. the WOF teachers use a portion of scripture 'by his stripes we are healed" and assign it meaning that is not only wrong, but proven in every single case to be wrong. You say, "it brings total physcial healing to my body" referring to the Cross. Wrong. Your body remains under the curse and will die. How many people do you know that believe like you say you do, who have developed physical illness and who have died. I know, I know, the teachers would have you believe that their illness were brought on by sin and unbelief. That's fine, until it happens to you. And it will. Your body is dieing even as you read this, so is mine and every other living human person. Remember Satan in the desert with Christ? What did he do? He quoted scripture out of context. Not to mention what he (Satan) promised (but I will). Mat 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Mat 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. But we are not to approach scripture in this way. Looking to obtain stuff. we are to seek the truth and apply it accordingly. So again, I'm not asking you to take my word or Brad's word for anything. Do the research for yourself. You have the internet, start with the Christian Research Institute CRI website. Do a search on the word of faith movement and the individual teachers. Take your own books, if you have any and line up their teachings with scripture. You'll find that you can't. Not when there considered with scripture in it's appropriate context the way God gave them. Hey, If I am wrong, if thousands of years of doctrine is wrong, no worries. You will discover the truth and keep your 100 fold. But if you are wrong, be prepared. You may have to give up some of the things of this world. But what's more imortant? The truth is. In Christs' love, Jeff PS. Mitch, take this challenge seriously, to research this and seek the truth. I had the very same challenge made to me. I was a hardcore Kenneth Copeland fan. The money and all. He was on the board of a church I used to attend. I watched him on TV every chance I got (almost daily), read his books, etc. Then the challenge. Then the research and personal study of God's word. Then the repentance. Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; |

Hi Jeff, I appreciate the kind words. May I add that you have also spoken very wisely- especially from one coming out of this camp. Your words should be heeded and I too would encourage Mitch to take up the challenge. With no offense intended, we have a lady in our Adult Sunday school class with very similar views. (She's a big fan of Kenneth Copeland) the prior week she was very pointed in condeming the teaching of Orthodox Biblical doctrine and calling it "dangerous" and that it had even been "detrimental to her"?! What needs to be pointed out and emphasized is that no one- least not myself- is bashing, disparaging or otherwise "bad-mouthing" these men. It is their FALSE DOCTRINE that is in question and it is to that I speak. We need to be discerning to separate the man from the message. I think that's been done- if those listening will hear and set aside the "cult of the personality". Paul named names in 2 Tim. 3 and 4! I'm glad that the Lord opened your eyes to know the truth and your stand against this insidious type of "junk-food" theology! Popular is often far from being right! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Do you have any scripture to back up your belief that its better to find otu what the internet says than what the Word says? Give me scripture and I'll discuss it, otherwise do us all a service and keep quiet. This is a Bible study forum, not a reserch club.

Mitch, Listen, there is no need to get short with me! You're simply not listening, brother. I'm very familiar with the Forum guidelines:-) I've been on this Forum much longer than you and I expect to stay a while longer too! The burden of proof is on you to prove the validity of the WOF teaching! I'm done with this topic! Have a great day:-) BradK |

I'm sorry if you think Im being short with you. I'm just saying either bring scripture to me, as my brother Mark did, or you won't get any response out of me. If you are done with the topic, thats fine. I apologize if I came across as being short, that was not my intention, simply I just meant to get my point across that I have been backing up what I preach, and have gotten litten scripture if any in return from you. God Bless, Mitch |
