1 | What is preaching Christ? | John 7:17 | Morant61 | 167516
Greetings Mitch! I believe that anything is possible in prayer. :-) But, I don't believe that God is some magic lamp that we can rub and get whatever we wish. I have seen miraculous answers to prayer, and I have also seen times where God's will was different than mine. I have seen a blind boy healed. I have seen a broken bone mended on the spot. I have also lost a son to congenital heart defects when it was not God's will to heal him (at least physically). As to measuring faith, I don't think that we can put it on a scale or in a beaker, but it certainly can be quantified. Scripture refers to 'little faith'. It refers to 'great faith'. It also refers to 'no faith'. So, I would certainly say that faith can be measured. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

I know faith can be measured, but you can't measure it like you measure a mustard seed. Thats all I'm saying there, you say he only means literal mountains, then why don't you say he means litterally measuring your faith like you measure a seed? I am sorry to hear about your loss, and I am even more sorry to hear that you believe it was not God's will to heal your son. I never said God is a magical lamp either. I simply say that whatever his will is, thats what I want in my life. And healing is his will. AGain, I am sorry for the loss of your son, I hope that in time you are emotionally healed from that experience, and realize God did not take him, satan is the one who kills steals and destroys. God Bless you brother, Mitch |

3 | What is preaching Christ? | John 7:17 | Morant61 | 167557
Greetings Mitch! I appreciate the kind thoughts my friend, but I don't need emotional healing. :-) I am very comfortable in my faith and trust in God. I prayed for my son's healing and God did heal him - completely, by taking him home. I will see him again one day. Though I grief his loss in our lives, I never have lost my trust in God. :-) I too agree that God heals, but there is no Scripture that says this is always His will. Satan did not overpower God and thwart His will and take my son. God accomplished His will. I remember praying with a man in our church who had suffered a severe heart attack and was comatose. (Sp?) His entire family and I had prayed repeatedly that God would heal him, but nothing seemed to change for several weeks. Finally, as the family was preparing to leave one night, I went to his wife and asked her if it was time to let her husband go home. She agreed and we all gathered around the bed and prayed that God would take him home if that was His will. He immediately stopped breathing and died. The family had such a wonderful peace about it. I really believe that God had simply given them a couple of weeks to prepare for their loss. Does God heal? Yes! Is it always His will to heal? There is no Scripture that says this! Do you believe God's will in heaven is for people to die? Do you think he wants death to take place in heaven? HOw about 1 Peter 2:24 that says by the stripes of Jesus we are healed? Its found in Isaiah as well, I know you know that. Also part of Isiah is quoted in the Gospel, you know that as well. That shows its God's will to heal. Where can you find that shows its not always his will? Again I ask, if we are to pray Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Are we to think that sometimes he wants people to die in heaven? And would you ever pray repetedly for God to grant you salvation, or do you think that you only have to pray that one time? Do you think a person has to get up every morning, and become born again , again? Also, if at times its God's will to kill, then we can say that Satan does the work of God, correct? Just some thoughts, Mitch |
