Hello ngkh, I appreciate your reply:-) I have no problem with you brother/sister. My challenge is with the WOF movement as a whole- Kenneth Hagin being the grandaddy of it. His theology is not Orthodox nor biblical and yes, it's roots are in mysticism (Edward Cayce). Simply because one quotes scripture proves not the soundness of their doctrine. Proof-texting is easily done, usually aside from any CONTEXT! There is little if any expositional/expository teaching in this camp. (Compare him to Gill, Edwards or Spurgeon) When Christ is preeminent (Col. 1:18), He, His person and completed works are the focus. Paul preached Christ (1 Cor. 2:2, 2 Cor. 4:5). The focus on miracles, healings, etc. is NOT preaching Christ. Christ alone is our sufficiency and it is Him alone we need! (Eph. 1:3) I'm aware of and in agreement with 1 Cor. 2:18-23?! I'll leave it said at that. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

YOu said preaching healings miracles etc is not preaching Christ. What do you say is preaching Christ then? And no Hagin is not the 'granddaddy' of the faith movement. Jesus Christ is. He is the one who said if you say unto this mountain be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in your heart but believe those things you say shall come to pass you shall have whatsoever you say. ( Mark 11:23 ) Jesus is the one who said that whatever we give up for his sake and for hte gospels sake in this life, we shall receive a hundredfold return in this present life ( Yes that does mean 100 return on money invested as well as everything else you sacrifice for his sake and for the gospels sake because ) and we do recieve the 100 fold return in this present life and life everlasting in the one to come ( Mar 10:29 - 30 ) So please tell me, what do you consider is preaching Christ? God Bless, Mitch |

Greetings Mitch! What is 'preaching Christ'? 1 Cor. 1:20-25 answers this question: "Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength." 2 Cor. 4:5 says, "For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake." 1 Cor. 1:17 - "For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power." So, preaching the gospel, the cross, and the Lordship of Christ is preaching Christ. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

The Cross is what allows me to have physcial healing in my body, and the death of Christ is what makes me rich. Its what prospers me, and its what heals me. So what I'm saying, is that if you say preaching Christ, is not talkikng about the miracles that come from what he did, then you are just wrong. The Cross is everything to a believer. It brought me into right standing with God, it delivered me from all sin, it brings total physcial healing to my body, it makes me a financially prosperous man. It is miraculous. So my point was, to say that preaching Christ, is not preaching miracles, then what is the Cross if it itself is not a miracle? | ||||||
