Hi WOS, In answer to your query, no. Obviously the written word Jesus quoted was from Deuteronomy in the OT. The point being He quoted the written word! Maybe I'm not catching your point, but I can't think of anywhere that scripture itself says the written word will supplant the oral teachings of Christ and the apostles. However, any oral teachings would be included in the (now) completed cannon. We have the completed cannon of scripture and that is the limit- as I believe it- of Gods' revelation to us. I do not hold to extra-biblical revelation. Anything else is simply going beyond what is written:-) Speaking the Truth in Love, Brad |

But even the Gospel of John tells us that it is not complete. It would simply be impossible to record everything. I believe it is the completed revelation to us from God. But the Spirit works through us in more ways than just the written word. That's my point. Don't limit God. Who are we to know the mind of God. WOS |

Hello WOS, We'll have to disagree on this one:-) I see the argument you present as tenuous at best. Without trying to push the point, I'm not limiting God. God is infinite, sovereign and all powerful as some of His attributes. I would find it a bit presumptuous and difficult to limit such a God as God Almighty- El Shaddai! 1 Cor. 2:16 tells us that "we have the mind of Christ." Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Point very well made. And with that I'll muzzle myself. Thank you Brother. WOS |
