i am looking for more scripture on how does one get anointed or has the anointing as a child ofGod. yow know how you see people are just anointed in certain areas of their lives. i know God gives gifts as he wills. but i would like to know some specifics on doing a teaching on why some are anointed and some aren't. thanks rainey | ||||||

Rainey: It is not true that some Christians are anointed and some are not. 'If any individual Christian is to be considered anointed, then so every Christian must be as well. For this is the only sense in which the term is used (apart from Christ) in the New Testament: "You [referring to all believers] have an anointing from the Holy One" (1 John 2:20, NIV). Thus, no believer can justifiably claim any special status as God's..."anointed" over other believers' (www.equip.org). Rainey, if you have any New Testament evidence to support the notion that some Christians are anointed while others are not, I would be happy to consider it. (By 'Christian' I mean a believer since the beginning of this church age on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2).) What I mean by evidence is a clear New Testament verse that actually contains some form of the word 'anointed' or 'anointing' that backs up your assertion. An assertion that is contrary to Scripture as explained in the first paragraph in this Note.
