1 | Treasure? | Matt 6:20 | Mommapbs | 120168
Who is the beneficiary of this treasure? What kind of treasure was Jesus talking about? How do we send treasures on ahead of our arrival? How might this verse enable us to evaluate how we invest the resources God has given us while we are still here? |

2 | Treasure? | Matt 6:20 | Rowdy | 120171
1) It seems pretty clear that Jesus is talking only to those that have a soul with which to go to heaven, so He's talking about us human beings as being the beneficiaries of God's Home after a life of faithful service and obedience to Him. 2) Kind of treasure: I would refer to Rev 2:10 3) How to: Study God's Word as cited in 2 Tim 2:15 4) We must discard the things of this world and think on Heavenly things as cited in Eph 3:8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him. Hope this helps and God bless. --Rowdy |

3 | Treasure? | Matt 6:20 | Mommapbs | 120185
Greetings Rowdy! According to your post you have identified our treasure as "God's Home" or eternal life with Him. But does God's Word say that we are the beneficiaries of that (God's Home, Heaven, eternal life with God) as a result of faithful service and obedience? Please clarify this. My thinking on this passage is this: God treasures people. When we invest in things that contribute to the salvation of the souls of the lost, we become participants in the expansion of the Kingdom of God. This is how, it is my opinion, that we are "storing up treasures" in heaven. The crown of life that you referenced in Rev 2:10 is what we receive as a result of our faith in the finished work of Christ - we can not earn it by faithful service and obedience. It is waiting in heaven for us.(Acts 26:18; 1 Peter 1:4) Blessings to you! mommapbs |

Hi Momma, How does a Christian "invest in things that contribute to the salvation of the souls of the lost" without being a faithful and obedient servant? Can they do this by being disobedient? AO |
