Once saved, aways saved doctrine refuted! Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve apostles, who had the Spirit of God, yet lost his soul. This teaches us, that just because one starts out as a child of God's, doesn't mean you will end up that way. We must be faithful unto death. Rev 2:10 to receive a crown of life. Acts 5:1-11 Ananias and Sapphira another example died in sin. So we must be faithful unto death. |

If you insist on arguing against Eternal Security and in support of Eternal Insecurity, could you at least offer some sane and sensible arguments to support your opinions? Examples of good arguments rejecting the doctrine of Eternal Security follow: "In view of the biblical teaching that the security of the believer depends on a living relationship with Christ (John 15:6); in view of the Bible's call to a life of holiness (1 Peter 1:16; Hebrews 12:14); in view of the clear teaching that a man may have his part taken out of the Book of Life (Revelation 22:19); and in view of the fact that one who believes for a while can fall away (Luke 8:13); [we] disapprove of the unconditional security position which holds that it is impossible for a person once saved to be lost." |

Regarding your suggestion to use sane and sensible arguments, kalos Well, it is a novel idea! Apparently certain members of this forum never heard of such a thing! So gauche, so pedestrian! Why, it's much easier to pick an assortment of words, shuffle them as one would a deck of cards, and post them post haste. The theory being, I guess, that the law of averages being what it is, eventually one of the posts will make sense. A corollary to the theory is that the nuttier the post on this forum, the more splash it makes and the more responses it gets. But post something scripturally sound and it hardly gets a nod. So has been the way with StudyBibleForum during the year and a half I've been hanging around it. --Hank | ||||||
