'However again I believe it has to serve God’s purpose to heal them. Each healing in the Bible had a purpose. All showed the glory and power of God. In the New Testament most were to validate either Jesus or his apostles' I have a few questions. 1. We still have sick people in the world as they did in the gospels accounts. If the purpose of the healings showed the glory and power of Abba Father, does scripture say we can no longer see the glory and power of Abba Father thru healings like the ones performed in the gospels? 2. If most of the healings were to validate Jesus and his apostles, is it unscriptural for Jesus to be validated today thru signs and wonders (which include healing)? Some may never read the bible, so why can't we be living letters(doing signs and wonders) and maybe, just maybe, they will believe on our Father because of those signs and wonders. |

mbooker, greetings. Read John 5:1-9. Jesus selected one man, of a group, and healed him, only. Jesus did not heal everyone. I do believe that people are healed, even apart from medicine (Jam 5:14-16). Just because people like Joni Tada are not healed means anyone lacks faith ... nor does it invalidate God. Signs and wonders ... false Christs and false prophets will show them (Mark 13:22) ... and our got after people who wanted signs and wonders (John 4:48) ... so be careful when wanting signs and wonders. Thanks for the scriptures Searcher. John 5:2-3 tells of a great multitude that lay in the 5 porches. John 5:6 tells me that 'Jesus saw him lie'. It doesn't not say 'He saw the multitude'. The reason I point this out is because in other places in scripture, it tells us that Jesus saw the multitute and healed them: But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; Matt 12:15 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. Matt 14:14 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Matt 15:30 ***************** I agree that if someone does not get healed, that does not invalidate Abba Father, the Lord that heals. ***************** How do we reconcile Mark 13:22 (false Christs and false prophets showing signs and wonders) with Mark 16:17 'And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover'? False Christs and false prophets shall show signs and wonders but they that believe shall have signs following them. I would really love to devle into this one so that I can learn how to discern whether false Christs and prophets or those that believe are showing the signs and wonders. Was Jesus rebuking the man when he said 'Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe'? The next thing Jesus says is 'Go your way, your son lives'. Did Jesus WANT this man to believe and thus he said 'your son lives' and the son lived? Also, I was not saying that I persay wants signs and wonders. I already believe in the Lord my GOD. I was just saying that if the Chruch as a whole exhibited the power that Christ did while he was here, would the unbelievers become believers? questions, questions, questions. I am full of them! :) Hope you are able to lend more scriptures to enlighten. Abba Father bless and keep you. |

Scripture ... Matt 9:18-22 (Mark 5:24-34), 12:15; Mark 1:34, 3:10, 13:22, 16:17-18; John 4:46-54 ... Matt 9:18-22 (Mark 5:24-34) ... even tho there were more He saw one. His focus was on the one He was healing. Mark 1:34, 3:10 ... says He healed many, it doesn't say all, while He healed all, as you pointed out (Matt 12:15) ... but it once only once. Mark 16:17-18 is for a specific time, and even a group. There are other promises that do not apply today. People have died by trying to claim this passage and the rest, I believe, are fakes. Jesus was addressing the crowd in John 4:48, not just the royal official, whose whole house believed after seeing what he did (vs 53). Was it His motive for healing? It could be ... but, it may not always of been His motive. His power is seen mainly through changed lives. If the church would pray, praise, preach, present (give), proclaim and proskuneo (worship in the Greek), like we should people would see His power. Hope this helps, Searcher PS I jsut thought about the ways He healed blind men. It was different each time. |
