Doc, You can't just shoot down an idea because some other group might loosely agree with it. That is bad logic and very misleading to others reading your post. You have tried to lump me in with other religions in an attempt to discredit me. Anyone should be able to see the flaw there. For example, you believe that Jesus Christ came and died for sinners and that believing on Him is the way to be justified and go to heaven. Well, if I recall correctly (and I do since I have read the book of Mormon) that the Mormons believe the exact same thing. Does that mean you are a heretic or cult leader because one of your doctrines happens to coincide with one of theirs? I can give you more examples if necessary, but I think one is enough. If you want to point out an error in what I have written, please do. I am always looking to learn. But don't use silly arguments that don't hold up in an attempt to make me look foolish. To answer your question, I don't affiliate with any particular theological disposition or denomination or whatever. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do know the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I don't even agree with all the theology of the church I attend. I am not trying to line up with any predetermined theology. I am trying to line up with Christ. jamison |

2 | An interesting discussion/question | Romans | CDBJ | 204994
Hello Jamison, If I am reading you right are you telling us that you believe that Jesus is the way the truth and the life? Do you also believe the rest of the verse that says, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”? John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Just curious, CDBJ |

Hello CDBJ, Yes. I believe the entirety of Scripture. Our interpretations may differ, but I assure you that I believe it to be God's Word. "No man cometh unto the Father, but by me" jamison |

Thanks Jamison for the response, I would like to read your take on the word "faith". As it is used in the following; Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. And do you think it is scriptural, or possible, for a person to have faith in more then one object and still be able to claim the everlasting life that resides only in the person of Jesus Christ? 1 John 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." CDBJ |

5 | An interesting discussion/question | Romans | jamison | 205095
Hello CDBJ (what does that stand for?), Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I assume this will do for the definition of faith. As it is used in Eph 2:8-9, Our salvation comes through our faith. Much like Hebrews 11 mentions of the OT believers. They believed God and it was credited to them as righteousness. Not sure if I have answered your question thoroughly. If not, let me know. Faith in more than one object...I am not sure if I understand you correctly. If what you are asking is if one thinks that faith in Jesus plus faith in someone/something else is ok, then I would probably say no. We have to believe God, all else is meaningless. Have I answered you, or did I miss the point? jamison |
