1 | What was Jesus doing in the earth 3 days | Matthew | EdB | 94785 | ||
Graceful Once again Hades which is translated hell is not a place of punishment but rather a waiting place for the unrighteous dead. In light of that fact for you or anyone else to suggest that Jesus had to go to Hell to be torment to pay the price of sin is nonsense. It also says we have to change the Biblical definition of Hell, The lake of Fire, and eliminate the Great White Throne of Judgement since Judgement is already rendered and the guilty are serving sentence in Hell. To even remotely suggest that Martin Luther somehow supported this false WOF teaching is stretching the truth past absurd and approaches ridiculous. In your references to David’s writing remember Jews believed if you sinned badly enough God would kill you this was established in the Exodus when God struck down various rebellions among the Children of Israel. We also see this played out in Job. So when David cried out in sin and talked of hell, he wasn’t talking of hell as a place of punishment but rather of death and residence in Hades as a reward for sin. So many of your references of punishment for sin are really references to death resulting from sin as perceived by the Jewish mind. New Testament writers played against this to stress the effect of sin on the spirit man, not to reinforce the WOF misguided concept that Jesus was tormented in Hell for the sins of men. And since your expounding WOF teaching on Jesus in Hell why don’t you tell the rest of the WOF story and have Satan and his demons down there manning the whips. Or the one I like best Jesus and Satan in eternity’s greatest wrestling match. Where Satan is mopping the floor with the defeated Jesus. All seems lost as Satan has Jesus in an unbreakable hold, the demons jumping and shouting and cheering the expected victory. The world is drawn into terrible darkness and at the last minute when all seems lost, God hollers enough Satan looses his strangle hold on Jesus and all the world celebrates the victory. Instead of Jesus getting a WWF belt he gets the keys of death hell and the grave. Just then the announcer speaks into the mic telling everyone of the death match between WOF and Christianity next week right here on the Study Bible Forum brought to you by our sponsors Lockman. I mean if your going with stories and made up tales let them be exciting. Before anyone says anything about the above paragraph I apologize to every faithful and dedicated true believer that is on this forum. I was not making light of you or Lockman and I highly respect you all. I just dropped into this little bit of whimsy to try to contrast with reality how ridiculous this WOF teaching really is. Again I apologize for my reference to the forum and Lockman in what could be consider a less than faltering way. EdB |

EdB, You can argue with Gracefull tell your fingers fall off. but it won't do any good. She is blinded. And doesn't want to know what the truth is due to the fact she wants to support everything Copeland and Hagin teach. When this all first started I asked what Salvation was to her. She said believe in the lord Jesus Christ (Paraphasing) Then the Hell doctrine was mentioned. She said you don't have to believe that (Paraphasing again) Then when we proved that the WoF says you must believe it. Then she began to defend on why you must believe it. So I decided to just give it a rest and maybe somethings we have said will sink into her head. As we keep argueing the point with her She is just going to get mad and fight her way out of a corner. Its human nature to do so when you feel trapped. SO let he think about what was all said About WoF the Hell doctrine and the verses. All we can do is love and pray for her. God bless you, Darcy |

Darcy I agree. However what do we do for baby Christians that stumble on to the forum? Word of Faithers are always eager to try to convert a young Christian into one of their WOF converts. As I said before so much of what they say is right that if your not careful they can successfully hid the WOF lies in amongst the truth. The strongest teaching in WOF is on the need to protect your faith, letting nothing steal it. In this way WOF can isolate their converts into only listening to what they say. I have tried many times to get WOF’ers to read literature exposing the falsehoods found in WOF. Almost to a person they are very reluctant, the reason they have been so cautioned about faith stealing and negativism that they remain blind rather than risk their faith. What we need to do is pray that God will protect those seeking answers here on the forum from being exposed to WOF doctrine. I also pray for Graceful because I believe God is going to remove those scales from their eye. EdB |
