Greetings Graceful! Just a note of clarification for everyone's benefit. You wrote: "Once..Strong's #530 'hapax' and is the same word used in Acts 18 Christ having died 'once' for sin." There appears to be a typo in Strong's at this point. 'Hapax' is not used in 1 Peter 3:20, but is used in 1 Peter 3:18. All of the various Greek manuscripts have 'pote' (4218) in 1 Peter 3:20. Thanks Tim, That makes a lot more sense. I wondered why Searcher said 'pote'. So 'Pote' means 'once upon a time'? Thank you for the input. Also any comments from your Greek expertise on 'commend' in Luke 23:46? God bless |

Greetings Graceful! 'Pote' actually means something more like 'when'. It can refer to the past or even the future. As far as Luke 23:46 goes, 'commend' is the verb 'paratithemi'. It basically means to 'set before' or 'to entrust'. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
