Hello; I did a word search on the words "Trinity" and "substitutionary atonement" and didn't find these words either. The term "deity of Christ" didn't show up. Nowhere in Scripture is the term "second coming" used. What does this mean? --Joe! |

Joe; It was my mistake that I didn't make my reply long enough to include things like the Trinity, substitutionary atonement, diety of Christ, and second coming of Christ, which I find Scriptural support for even though they are not mentioned by those terms, they are implied by plently of Scripture and therefore I believe in those terms. But when I come to the term "eternal security" I find no support for it except on a daily on-going continious basis. By that I mean, one who is in the faith, or in Christ today - present tense - possibly may not be in Christ tomorrow or the next day or year - future tense. Actually I see the concept of "eternal security" based on a one-time decision sometime in the past without any exercise of faith in the present as a non-Bibical concept. I see where Scripture is actually in opposition to the "eternal security" concept. . MY NIV Bible reads; "Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position 2 Peter 3:17. I realize that there are many who will disagree with my thoughts on this, at the same time, I respect the right and opinion of others concerning this. |
