Greetings EdB! Which men? I would agree that Luther probably wanted the church to remain united, but he was not willing to remain united at the cost of truth. Therefore, a split was inevitable. I certainly can't see Luther being a 'pawn' of anyone though! ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Dear Brother Tim, I agree with you and Kalos. I also agree with Ed. The problem is that history is not simple. We seek the truth in the Word of God, to reform ourselves to it continually (1 John 2:27). In that process we change (John 15:8). The world system around us adjusts in a million different ways -- sometimes positively and sometimes negatively -- but the world cannot be saved. We use the world where we can in our personal reformation (1 Tim 2:2). The important thing is that our minds are being transformed (Romans 12:2).
