If one group or denomination do not have all the answers. Then that mean that the Church that Christ gave his blood for, no longer exist upon the face of the Earth. But, instead, the doctrine have been scattered among all the denominations. And each one may have only a fragment, of the Truth. Jesus did say, upon this Rock, I build my Church and all the gates of hell shall not previle against it. Didn't he? Can anyone be saved with only a fragment? | ||||||

Perhaps we should back to before the reformation. I said that kind of tongue in cheek. I not sure but I think Jesus is not happy with the state of the church today. With thousands of denominations each claiming themselves right and the others mislead. When each man decided he could determine for himself what he Bible said without the investment of years of study and training. Without the commitment of fervent prayer and disregarding the traditions, past teachings, and apostolic succession of knowledge I think he got just what we see today a church that is no where near what it could/should have been. Doc That is a very formal term used almost exclusively in most of the best theological circles. Actually I made it up but it does kind of have a nice ring don’t you think? :-) What I was trying to express is the verbal perpetuation of the oral teachings received directly from the apostles. These were later recorded in various writings of the church fathers that most people never consider to consult. Men like Polycarp and his prodigies St. Irenaeus and Papias and others like St. Jerome, Eusebius, Photius men that had first or second hand contact with the Apostles. EdB |

Dear Brother Ed, It is an honor to have this little insight into those theological circles which normally can only be seen dimly in the great distance, so far are they from our lowly statiion in life! :-) Seriously, though, thank you for explaining. I understand what you were trying to express and agree with it as well. In Him, Doc PS Put a good word in for me in those best theological circles, won't you? They keep turning away my applications! |
