jcsav ::: If you are asking about baptism (immersion in water), yes, it is necessary for the believer because our Lord commanded that those who become His disciples should be baptized (Matthew 28:19), but it is not salvific (Ephesians 2:8,9). It neither saves nor contributes to salvation in any way. --Hank

So, when the Lord says you must be born of the Water and Spirit. He is not speaking of water Baptism? Is Mar 16:16 speaking of water baptism or is this Spirit baptism only? As for as Eph 2:8,9 goes. Faith do have works. I surpose you see Water baptism as a works (it is not works of the Law) Baptism is for remission of sin (Act 2:38). It is possible only by the death of Christ. It did not come from man, but God. You have just proved my point. If it is not salvific. Then that mean you can be born again without it. And it also mean that you can be saved, without following our Lords commandment to do so. Is that what you are saying, Hank?
