Greetings Jcsav! Hank made some good points my friend. I would simply add that the only 'thing' I need to know to be saved is Christ! ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

I agree. But in order to be saved, You must be born of the Water and Spirit. And it must be done correctly. And if you know Christ. Then you should know, what that is.

Actually, jcsav, I don't know of any "incorrect" way to be saved. Do you? A man is either saved or he isn't. If he is, obviously it was done "correctly"! And it is NOT something man can do for himself anyway. Who saves? God does (see Ephesians 2:8,9). And He never does anything incorrectly, does He? "As for God, His way is perfect" (Psalm 18:30a). --Hank

I can think of many different ways to be Baptised d (according to the many different groups) and all do not lead to Salvation. How many (ways) do you think the apostles used? Don't you think Jesus told them how to do it.I was not aware that God baptises with water. Are do you believe that it is even necessary? God saves but he do so by using people.

jcsav ::: If you are asking about baptism (immersion in water), yes, it is necessary for the believer because our Lord commanded that those who become His disciples should be baptized (Matthew 28:19), but it is not salvific (Ephesians 2:8,9). It neither saves nor contributes to salvation in any way. --Hank

So, when the Lord says you must be born of the Water and Spirit. He is not speaking of water Baptism? Is Mar 16:16 speaking of water baptism or is this Spirit baptism only? As for as Eph 2:8,9 goes. Faith do have works. I surpose you see Water baptism as a works (it is not works of the Law) Baptism is for remission of sin (Act 2:38). It is possible only by the death of Christ. It did not come from man, but God. You have just proved my point. If it is not salvific. Then that mean you can be born again without it. And it also mean that you can be saved, without following our Lords commandment to do so. Is that what you are saying, Hank?

jcsav ::: I said what I said in Post 146951 as clearly and succinctly as I know how, have nothing more to add, am disinclined to carry this dialogue any closer to absurdity than it already is, and so I am signing off. Best wishes for a pleasant evening. --Hank
