Jcsav I see where you’re going now and I agree to a point. I really question if one can move in the gifts of the Spirit if they are not saved. I understand your position on what Jesus said, chastening them for not knowing Him and not expressing His anger about them doing signs and wonders. However I think the assumption you make that the signs and wonders were authentic can not be established out of Jesus’ silence on the issue. It may have been Jesus simply didn’t mention that because the fact Jesus never knew them was a more serious offense. We see all through Revelations where Satan through the false prophet and the antichrist move in false signs and wonders also in Matthew 24:24 (NKJV) 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Notice what is says “if possible, even the elect.” I believe it is possible to deceive the elect because most don’t move in any form of discernment choosing simply to believe everything rather than question anything. We have eliminated critical thinking from the church and made Christianity pabulum for the masses never feeding them meat. EdB |

No, the authenticy was not by Jesus silence on the issue. It was based on what Jesus said in Mat 12:24-29 after He was accused of casting out devils by the power of devils. Also, I see preaching as a gift from God. Phil 1:15-18 All these Preachers was not behaving "Saved" Yet, Paul rejoiced because the Christ was Preached. I am speaking this from the point of view that there is but One True Gospel and that it was being Preached. Also, I believe that the Rev. signs and wonders you refer to is after the rapture. (2 Th 2:7) Thought, I see the antichrist already at work. I do not believe those filled with the Holy Ghost will see these signs and wonders that you speak of from Rev. |

Jcsav My friend you sadly mistaken. I have witnessed a man that definitely moved in familiar spirits do signs and wonders and a congregation of about 500 applauded him. I don’t know if the man was saved or not, as neither you nor I can tell. However I do know he used familiar spirits to tell of a believer’s sinful past (once we are saved God forgets our sins they are as far as the east is from the west) , this man then moved on to healing and preaching. His Jesus was a different Jesus in that his Jesus wasn’t divine until he was baptized. Was his healing real I only know what the people testified too. They said they were healed. This man then preached this false Jesus and almost to a person everyone that heard him raved about his anointed preaching. This man was a false teacher according to Scriptural standards. As for casting out demons I never mentioned that before. I referenced Matt 7:23 because these people were doing wonders and Jesus never knew them. I have been talking about false teaching, false signs and wonders such as healing etc. I have never witnessed what I would classify a false teacher try to cast out demons. In fact I haven't seen many authentic preachers that are prayed up enough to actually be able to cast out a demon. Many claim to have cast out a demon but I was never convinced there ever was a demon in the person they claimed was demon possessed. I think we need to switch this aspect of this thread over to another thread, Searcher56 has already complained about us being off subject. Perhaps we can use the thread Search56 has started titled "Can unbelivers posses the gifts?" Or if you want you can start a new thread. EdB |

Edb I have seen those possessed with demons. They do and will speak to you. The individual that preached this different Jesus. Was not preaching the One true gospel. You did a good job in using the Word of God to try the Spirits. But, again I preach a different Jesus, than the one you believe in. So, are you skilled enought in the Word, to try my Spirit? |

Jsav No I'm sorry I didn't realize your were Apostolic Pentecostal. I guess that means your oneness. But if I'm right don't oneness believe Jesus wasn't deity until after His death. So for this guy to preach Jesus becoming deity at His baptism would even put him outside your teaching. EdB |

No, that is not what we believe. This is Sad for me to say, but that teaching came out from some that left us. The revelation of Oneness can not be taught to be understood. You can only call Jesus "Lord" by the Holy Ghost. We believe Jesus to be not only the Son, But "Father" and "Holy Ghost". That is why we baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ, as did the Apostles. If you do not wait on God (to reveal) It is easy to get confused or lefted up (when it is given) that there is but One God. | ||||||
