Mitch "If you think someone has done any or all of these, yet has not been saved, you need to look at the sitation and see what the catch is. Satan might very well remove cancer from a person, if he can manage to, and replace it with something even worse." Your right Satan does replace it with something worst "their lost soul". Are you aware Mormons heal in the name of Jesus? Yet we know the Jesus they call is not Jesus the Son of the living God. The catch, as you put it, in all of this is Satan has people deceived following after a healer that is teaching a different Jesus. Do you have any idea how many TV healers are teaching a different Jesus? A high percentage. How is he different? Not in some way those easy to deceive would catch, they slip a false teaching in here or there nothing so big and obvious that most would catch just a little twist or turn. However they build upon each false teaching until they have you hooked. If you follow signs and wonders I guarantee sooner or later you will be deceived, you must follow the living word of God and nothing else. EdB |

EdB It seems to me you are getting God's gifts and abilities mixed up with salvation. If one should follow after signs and wonders. It is a good idea to understand what they are and why they are given. |

Yes, and in many ways I agree with you. But you seem to believe that signs and wonders lead only to deception. That I do not believe. I would agree that it is a dangerous area. But so is Scripture (which by the way gave us signs that will follow the True Church), for some. Christ healed, but you do not see him making a circus act out of it. Just as I believe you said in one of your post. But, don't through the baby out with the bath water. | ||||||

Jcsav I don't think or at least I hope I didn't say making a circus act out of it. I did say some false teachers pretend to be ring masters deceiving people into believing they can make God perform. I also don't think I said signs and wonders lead to deception. I think I said following a man because he does signs and wonders can lead us into deception. We must follow the true word of God. Remember in Matthew 7:22 (NKJV) 22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' Nor do I propose to throw the baby out with the bath water. I'm Pentecostal from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. However I do believe the church has lost focus instead of seeking after more of God they seek after more signs and wonders. Do I believe God heals? Absolutely! Do I believe God always heals? Absolutely not. God moves according to his will to do that which will bring glory and honor to Him and him alone. I think this is what many miss the fact God desires the glory, if the man doing the healing is sought after, who is really getting the glory? The man! God will not share his glory and if you see a man moving in signs and wonders and is sought after because of them then there is something wrong. I know the first thing you going to say is what about the apostles, weren't they sought after for their signs and wonders? I ask you or were they sought after for who they were in Christ? The answer is, who they were in Christ. What about today can't a preacher be simply sought after for who he is in Christ? This is very dangerous, man any man can fail. We even see Peter stumble and Paul having to confront him. But times were far different then than they are now. The New Testament didn't exist, there was only one way for the people to know if this man was of God or not and that was by the ability God had given him. Even then some of the people went wrong, look at what happened to Paul in Acts 14 the people wanted to worship him as Zeus. Today we have the complete scripture there is no need to validate a ministry to the average person because they can read for themselves if the man is speaking the truth or not. God still moves but not at the commands of man. God still moves but He does so as He pleases. God still moves but only He will receive the glory when He does. God still moves he healed my 5 year old grandson just yesterday but no one but God will ever receive the glory for it. It wasn't anyone's prayer, it wasn't someone's hand laid on him, it wasn't anyone's faith, it was the mercy and sovereign will of God alone that my grandson was healed. Let God be praised!!!! EdB |

EdB Let me ask you this. In Mat 7:22, When they prophesied in his name (Remember false prophets will have their place in hell). And when they cast out demons in his name (Jesus said demons do not cast out demons) This is not what Jesus Judged them on. he said, I never knew you. Was their work of God or of the Devil? |

Jcsav Does it matter? What matters was they weren't leading people to Christ but to their own deception. They never knew Christ. Personally I believe they were moving in familar spirits and making it appear they were casting out demons. But the Word says if one demon is cast out and the place is not filled with the Holy Spirit 7 more even worst will return. Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV) 43 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation." Again your missing what I'm saying I'm saying wherever a man, a person claiming to be Christian moves in sign and wonders and uses the results to his glory, or teaches another Jesus people are being deceived. This generation has lost it ability to discern. They seek signs and wonders and are not seeking God, therefore they have made themselves ripe for deception. People are following after men not because they speak the truth but because they are doing signs and wonders. The people really don't care if they are preaching Jesus or not they just want more signs and wonders. Jcsav instead of trying to prove me wrong think about what I'm saying. EdB |

EdB I was not trying to prove you wrong. I would apoligize if that was my intent, but it is not. What I wanted you to see is that it is possible to have signs and wonders plus preach the True Gospel and yet be lost yourself (1Cor 9:27). As I said, I agree with most of what you say. And remember that people are willfully blind. They are not deceived simply because there are deceivers. It is a rightous judgement, against them. This in no way means that you was wrong in what you said. I was simply trying to add to it. |

Jcsav I see where you’re going now and I agree to a point. I really question if one can move in the gifts of the Spirit if they are not saved. I understand your position on what Jesus said, chastening them for not knowing Him and not expressing His anger about them doing signs and wonders. However I think the assumption you make that the signs and wonders were authentic can not be established out of Jesus’ silence on the issue. It may have been Jesus simply didn’t mention that because the fact Jesus never knew them was a more serious offense. We see all through Revelations where Satan through the false prophet and the antichrist move in false signs and wonders also in Matthew 24:24 (NKJV) 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Notice what is says “if possible, even the elect.” I believe it is possible to deceive the elect because most don’t move in any form of discernment choosing simply to believe everything rather than question anything. We have eliminated critical thinking from the church and made Christianity pabulum for the masses never feeding them meat. EdB |
