1 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121300
I did not base anything on when the Bible was silent You did. Ten times the Bible did not say one way or the other. At least two times (every word of God is established ) it plainly states that they was filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues. If you obey God's Word we would not even have a need for this discussion. That is the underlining point. My argument is not one the Ten. It is on the two that tells us plainly.
2 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | Searcher56 | 121310
Actually, only having TWO times where the believers spoke in a KNOWN tongue (same word as ibn Acts 2) is proof that it is not a sign was has the Holy Spirit ... moreover, tongues is a minor gift and should not be sought (1 Cor 12).
3 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121327
Acts 10:44-48,"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who were listening to the Message. (45) And the believers from among the circumcised (the Jews) who came with Peter were surprised and amazed, because the free gift of the Holy Spirit had been bestowed and poured out largely even on the Gentiles." Now ask yourself, How did they know? The answer is given in verse (46) For they heard them talking in (unknown) tongues (Languages) and extolling and magnifying God. Note: this is clearly not the gift of tongues, the minor gift that you called it. This is the Holy Spirit. There is a difference. And where is Paul rule about speaking in no more than twos. Where is the interpreters. Where was it in the upper room. I will tell you. They do not apply. |
