This post and your additional post concerning Paul and the statements he made is exceptional and some of the best reading I have come across in this forumn so far. You should put these thoughts in a book and give it to people who are sick. I believe you have clearly laid out what the Bible says and what I understood when I read it without human intervention. The only conclusion a fair treatment of scripture yields in this subject is that Paul must be speaking of wounds from persecutions and we never read of him being sick. You have let scripture interpret scripture. The idea that saints have become sick and even died of their sickness does not make void the Word of God. I am glad you took the time to post these verses. Don't let the gain sayers, doubters, and unbelievers keep you from posting. There will be thousands that might believe on the The Lord because of your faith filled words. This is what we should use these forums for to post faith filled words that others might read and be drawn closer to Christ. The harsh accusations and arguing spirits are not of God but of the flesh. The servant of the Lord must not strive but be gentle toward all men, apt to teach.. God Bless you and Thank you.

Scribe Yes, I give God all the Honor and Glory through OUR Lord and Savior Jesus, for His prompting and inspired Revelation Knowledge of His Living Word. There is so much in God's Word, it's amazing how some of God's Saints can't recognize what is being said! I close with this one thought of principle. Matthew 8:5-13, the Centurion reconized Authority. He was under authority, and by what he "said" or by his "words"(or commands) his soldiers obeyed. He "knew" Jesus had spiritual Authority over sickness, after what the Centurion says in v.9, this is what Jesus says in v.10, 'When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him,"I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith." This is the pattern of "Great Faith", especially in the areas of HEALING and other Spiritual operations - that is, a recognition, understanding, and belief in Spiritual Authority and its operation. The Centurion was vested with authority from his superior. When one receives a commission from his superior and the authority needed to carry out the task, he is said to be authorized to speak and act "in the name" of the one who has given the authority. I believe that we have received a "commission" from OUR Superior and authorized to "speak" and act "In The Name of Jesus". HE HAS GIVEN US THE AUTHORITY, over the enemy (sicknesses and dieases). Praise His Mighty Name. Thank You Father! Gods blessing and His Anointing to you, Scribe. In the future if you need some material on healing email me from my personal profile. |

I am interested in your thoughts on binding and loosing. Is it as my charismatic friends understand it, to bind and loose spiritual powers as it were or is it about forgiveness. Or is it both. Does it have to do with asking the Lord to forgive a person that has wronged you adn thus giving that person a greater chance of salvation? So that when a saint prays and intercedes and asks the Lord to save and deliver people they are loosing, and if they hold someone accountable for their wrong doing they are binding? Or is it that of saying "I bind the spirit of alcohol" and such like that I often hear, but do not see an example of in the scripture. I am interested in scriptural dialog about this. Thanks

Scribe, Matthew 18:18, is dealing with a person who has sinned against another, However what are we dealing with here? A person who has been influenced by an evil spirit. One vulnerable area that we can start with is what I refer to as "open doors" in our life. "Neither give place to the devil" is how Paul puts it in Ephesians 4:27, or as the Amplified Bible says, "Leave no room or foothold for the devil...give no opportunity to him." When we allow openings in our spiritual life the devil feels he has the right to take advantage of us in those specific territories. The Bible introduces us to doors in Genesis 4:7 when the Lord said to Cain, "If thow doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door." God told Cain that Satan was crouched at his doorway, waiting to leap into his life. Cain had the choice and because he chose to open the door to jealousy, Satan led him into the murder of his brother, Abel. Sin is progressive. One thing leads to another until we find ourselves in big trouble. For that reason we must learn to close those doors before they develop into something harmful. I do NOT believe that Christians can be demon possessed. But they certainly can be attacked in their mind, will, emotions and body. They can be troubled, pressed, buffeted, harassed, depressed, obsessed, oppressed in bondage and brusied. In "alcohol" we are dealing with the "spirit of bondage." This strongman usually works very closely with the spirit of fear. "For we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." Romans 8:15. (continued) |
