1 | Predestination | Eccl 6:10 | rachellynn | 197397 | ||
in NIV: Whatever exists has already been named, and what man is has been known; no man can contend with one who is stronger than he. in NLT: Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny. does this mean that God controls everything? Does he know what is going to happen and let it fall into place that way? Do we have any say in our own destiny? Can we change the future? what does this verse even tell us about the character of God? please do not answer if you are unsure. |

Hi, Rachel... This has been much discussed on the forum. I gave the full theological definition in post #151423. See also post #173497. Someone else asked the questions you have and I responded in post #178256. Don't be afraid of the predestination. It is a Biblical word! :-) In Him, Doc |
