Bible Note: Hi Dr. Steeno Pardon me sir but you have me kinda confused. Are you suggesting that somehow the cross has rendered the Lords pryer inconsequential and ineffective because of Christ's work on the Cross? And that somehow God is not going to look with favor and Grace and Mercy at a penitent heart? I would suggest, If I may, that you read Ps 51 with special attention to verse 17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise." I don't think Our Father who art in Heaven, minds at all when we confess "with contrition"! Even in a court of law, a confession with no sign of sorrow often leads to a maximum sentence! Oh no my friend, contrition, is always good for the soul! God bless John |
