Bible Note: Hi Sq, Where does the person of Jesus Christ fit into all that you have mentioned? Your first answer was that you were saved and you felt it. The problem is the Bible doesn’t back up what you say, were feelings; the Bible deals with facts and the feeling can’t be trusted! The process for forgiveness doesn’t include asking God to forgive you; it’s confession of your sins! God has already said He will forgive you so don’t insult Him by asking Him if He will, just do what He tells you. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. What is the Word of God telling you to do in that verse? Confess or admit your sins to Him and if you do that, what does God say He will do for you in return? He WILL forgive your sins and cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness. Do you believe what God says? The only reason why God can do this for you is because of what God did for those sins in the person of His Son Jesus the Christ. The problem with most believers that exercise the promise of 1John 1:9 is that 10 minutes after confessing their sins they commit another one and they are right back where they started before they confessed; out of fellowship again. On top of that most start having a guilt complex and that’s a sin as well and then they need to confess that sin to the Father! There are sins of omission and well as sins of commission that puts one out of fellowship. My advice to you would be to confess you sins to God the Father as soon as you sin then start forming some good study habits; like starting in the gospel of John and reading as much every day as you can right straight through to the end of the Bible. Buy yourself some marking pencils and start underline promises. Follow that with starting over and reading the whole New Testament from Matthew again to Rev. Then do it with a different translation and then start with Gen. and read to the end of the Bible! Always ask God to reveal the truth of His word before you read! 2 Tim. 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Let God talk to you through His Word; you need to get back to Square one while you still have a chance. If you are still alive, God still has a plan for your life, CDBJ |
