Bible Question:
Larry, you ask "many churches across America have no resemblance to a house of worship".. Would you be describing the Laodicean church (Rev. 3:15-16)? Would you say that many churches today fall prey to the same weakness of the Laodicean church? |
Bible Answer: Makarios: I was responding to the "Mommapbs'" post entitled "How to win the world" (back in Aug.2003) He said that "many churches across America have no resemblance to a house of worship." He went on to mention the "design" of some modern day church buildings, he mentioned their "music that is blasting" guitars, drums, and sound systems, In closing he says, " Is this meeting the needs of the world or "conforming" to the world? His final remarks were," Is this necessary to reach the world with the Gospel?" If I understand him correctly he is asking,"does it take all of that to get the lost people in the door of the church to hear the Gospel? You can read my responses. I posted on two ocassions concerning this question. As far as the Laodicean church, it seems to me that the church in general sure fits the description you alluded to in Rev: 3:15 Have a blessed day.
