Subject: How to "win the world" ? |
Bible Note: Larry: You write: "I say that if souls are being saved and lives are being changed....bring on the band, the lights, and the comfortable chairs, etc." Consider the following Scriptures. Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [22] On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' [23] And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' Rev. 2:2, 4-5 (ESV) " 'I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance,...[4] But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. [5] Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent." In light of these passages of Scripture, are you sure that the acid test of a true Christian or church is whether they do the expected works? Or is there more to it than that? I'm not saying you're wrong. I merely ask you to consider this. Peace, kalos |
