Subject: How to "win the world" ? |
Bible Note: I'm afraid I have to chime in on Dblessor's side on this issue. Sure, I guess we could all cite criticisms about the church on a national level. I've posted a few negative comments myself but the most important thing our Lord wants us to do is realize that there's always going to be sin in the world. There's also going to be a large number of those deceived into thinking they have found true Christianity. That's been going on since the first century. We can even read in Acts 13 about false prophets as follows: 5When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper. 6They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, 7who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. And everyone remembers the warnings from Apostle Paul to his son of faith, Timothy. So all of God's children everywhere need to understand God knew this would happen. We need to keep studying God's Word with an attitude of "better safe than sorry." So what does all this mean to you and me. In my opinion, it means we have to keep looking. If we see stuff that seems to make our worship less than what it should be, we shouldn't follow Cain's example and get angry about it. We should look around for the Abels in the world and follow their lead, most especially IF they're following God's Word. As always, God bless you all. |
