Subject: Is God subject to change? |
Bible Note: Dear Tim Another good example of God's interactions being conditioned upon man's response to him is: Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard. Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you." Jer. 26:13 (NASB) If the people would amend their ways and become obedient then God would choose to be favorable to the people. But if they failed to meet the conditions then God's would bring about misfortune. Nevertheless, the outcome of whether God would resort to plan A or plan B was up to the response of the people.
