Bible Question:
CDBJ, I know this is another simple and child like response, but I have only been a part of the forum for a few days; I got off on the wrong foot, and I am trying really hard to observe from the side lines to learn "how deep" I can go in answering questions, how much of my "opinion" I can include in my answers, and so forth, without being offensive to others in the forum or being offended myself to a response I may get from a post. I am not a "scholar" (though I am working on it) so until I am more comfortable with what is expected in this forum, my answers may not be what you would like as far as depth. I like being asked and asking, but again, I am still getting a feel for things. With all of that said,...John 3:16, and if you have a concordance or Greek to English dictionary, or some tool such as this(assuming you are not fluent in Greek), do a word study of the word BELIEVE. This I feel is a beginning at least, to answering your question. Please keep them coming. This way I get to participate in the forum and "get my feet wet" I will say It is strictly opinion, that we each experience a comfort and confidence in our relation with the Lord during different seasons of our life. Our experiences are what usually shape that comfort and assurance in our relationship with God. When we study His Word we gain a higher comfort level and dependance on His promises to those who BELIEVE. If you choose to take my advice and do a word study, please remember to check the tense of the word BELIEVE. I know it is sometimes time consuming to reflect on grammer as far noun, verb, adverb, etc., but it is worth it when we realize how much more we understand of this grand love letter of spoken communication to each of us from our Heavenly Father. Bible Answer: Hi Cuddle, That’s an interesting lengthy statement but you completely neglected to answer my question. Forget all of the forum protocol stuff just relax and be yourself, and tell me if you have come to the place “yet” where you, “personally” can say “for certain” that you have eternal life or not. There is only one answer and you are the only one on earth that can answer that question “truthfully”. I’ve ask this question to people who have been in the ministry for years and you wouldn’t believe all of the varied answers I heard; it's neat. It’s just a question that sparks my interest. It really isn’t that hard a question, and it’s probably been well over a week since the last time the forum Gestapo broke down someone’s door and tickled them to death with a chicken feather for being truthful. Tell it like it is, I won’t turn you in and besides that my German shepherd ate my black leather rain coat. Yah but they vast going to send me da new von sume day. Have fun, CDBJ |
