Bible Question:
Here is a quote I recently came across. Do you believe the author is justified in this statement? What are your thoughts? "Our churches no longer have the power of God to attract the people. They go down to Egypt, borrow its music, its dancing, it's entertainment, hoping for a crowd! No passion for souls - just crowds! Church growth at any cost! Look at the average church bulletin; it looks like a theater calendar. (Dave Wilkerson – Times Square Pulpit Series – The Great Apostasy – May 7, 1986) New Creature |
Bible Answer: The only response I can think of is that of God's Word. I've found it's true like so many have said before: God's Word has literally amazing depth and breadth. It covers every imaginable subject we NEED to know about God and eternity. When we present God's Word in its simplicity and straight forwardness, its inner beauty shouts to those who are receptive to it. God proclaims "Here I am, I love you and here's how bad I want you back." I can only say instead of complaining about all the garbage and the bad stuff in the world, we need to keep looking and find people that are truly interested in sticking to the Bible and love souls. I can further say that there's good and bad throughout the world, everywhere. So, continue looking and above all, continue studying God's Word and of course continue praying. God bless you all. |
