Subject: Is the first resurrection, the rapture? |
Bible Note: I have a question Jesus stated a well know fact in Matt 4:10 Then Jesus *said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'" I think we would all agree to this that we are to worship God and serve only. I think we would also agree with Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Now for those who hold to these two things and does not believe Jesus is equal to Jehovah God presents a major problem. Here is why: Jesus had people who worshiped Him though out the New Testament and He never rebuked them for doing this. Matt 2:11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matt 28:9 And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Matt 28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. Second, the proper thing for someone being worshiped, who is not God, to do is to tell them to STOP! Rev 22:8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Rev 22:9 But he *said to me, "Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God." So the question now is, is Jesus equal to God and is worthy of worship or is He sinful for not stopping people for worshipping Him? |
