Subject: Is the first resurrection, the rapture? |
Bible Note: Greetings Sisterkath! Thanks for your response. You wrote: "They all say the same-----The Truth." The reason why I wrote to you my friend is that they don't all say the same thing. Some of them are not true. This is the case with the New World Translation. Allow me to provide just a couple of examples so that you can see what I mean. 1) John 8:58: In this verse, Jesus says "I AM". Here He is clearly identifying Himself as God by using the same name with which God identified Himself to Moses. The JW's do not accept that Jesus is God, so their NWT translates Jesus' statement as "I have been" in a very transparent attempt to shift the meaning away from what the Greek clearly says. 2) John 14:14: Here, Jesus says to the Disciples, "You can ask me anything in my name and I will do it." Yet, the NWT leaves out the word 'me'. Again, the reason is simple. They do not want it known that Jesus told us to pray to Him, because He is God. So, the NWT obscures this fact by leaving out a word which is specifically in the Greek text. 3) Acts 20:28: Here, it is said that we are to shepherd the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. Whose blood? God's blood. Whose church? God's church. Again, Scripture is clearly identifying Christ as God. Yet, the JW's don't want people to see this, so they add the word "Son" in brackets so that the verse reads, "With His Sons blood". Why? These are just a couple of quick examples. But, I think that they illustrate quite clearly that JW's have rejected the truth about Jesus and they 'tailor' their translation to fit their false doctrine about Jesus. The NWT is not a legitimate translation and will not lead you to truth my friend. It will obscure the truth about Jesus. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
